The global peripheral chemoreflex drive (GPCD) in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc): a rebreathing and exercise study. The GPCD was diminished in dcSSc patients, suggesting an altered control of breathing and its assessment may help the clinician to better understand reported exercise intolerance and exertional dyspnea in dcSSc patients. A cross-sectional electromyography (EMG) assessment in linear scleroderma (LS) patients. In a small series of LS patients, there was a surprising amount of muscle dysfunction by EMG. Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) and the Risk of Tuberculosis (TB). In this nationwide study, the incidence of TB infection was significantly higher among patients with SSc than in controls without SSc and special care should be taken in managing patients with SSc who are at high risk for TB.
