Cerebral large vessel vasculitis in systemic lupus erythematosus. A female patient with the diagnosis of SLE presented with stroke-like symptoms, headache and vertigo, and palpable purpura on her legs. Lung Treatments Slow Damage From Fatal Lung Disease in Studies. Drugs made by Intermune Inc. and Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH slowed progression of a lung disease with no cure that often kills people three to five years after diagnosis, according to findings reported by two studies. Immune responses to stress in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriasis. Patients with RA have a different immune response to stress than patients with psoriasis or healthy controls. Depression, anxiety, and quality of life in a large cohort of patients with rheumatic diseases: common, yet undertreated. For the management of depression and anxiety, an increased awareness among physicians dealing with rheumatologic patients is warranted in order to integrate detection and effective treatment of anxiety and depression into the routine clinical practice. Learning a second language at any age may slow the brain's decline. There's an increasing amount of scientific support for the benefits of knowing (at least) two languages and picking up a new language even a little later in life can have serious cognitive benefits for the aging brain. Identification of lymphoma predictors in patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome: a systematic literature review and meta-analysis. Patients with primary Sjögren syndrome have an increased risk of lymphoma or lymphoproliferative disease compared to the general population and ascertaining relevant and reliable predictors would greatly facilitate the identification of patients at elevated risk for closer monitoring.
