Polyglandular autoimmunity in autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) behaves differently from polyglandular autoimmunity in type 1 diabetes. AITD shows clustering of gastric autoimmunity with celiac and adrenal autoimmunity, which is consistent with the proposed entity of the autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type 2. J. Wiebolt. Endocrine Abstracts. 2010. (Also see: Thyroid Diseaseand Diabetes Research)
