Should you have "missed me" in chat, yesterday...

I was rendered "power-less" for 2 hours...before, during and after Chat time. Needless to say, I missed those of you who may have shown up. I hope you were still able to have chat time, as you are welcome to do so!

If you are able to join me at Friday's Chat, whether you're a "Newbie" member or have been here for "ages", we'd LOVE to see you there! (Besides...I don't want to have to celebrate my birthday ALONE! I'll be "serving" virtual birthday dessert, which I'm just SURE will be your favorite)! ;)

Hi Susie

I know what you mean about power cuts; we're always having them and after 35 years we've finally bought a generator!! :emoticons-yes:

I shall be there on Friday, Susie, and would love to see lots of other members. I'll help you celebrate your birthday and coincidentally it will be mine on Saturday.......21 again (I wish!!) ;)

Hi Susie & Joelf,

I was on Tuesday night's chat at 7 p.m. central standard time, (my time), and hung out until 7:20 p.m., but nobody showed up. Susie, I was wondering what happened. I plan on being in Friday's chat to celebrate your birthday and Joelf's b-day,(one day earlier.) Looking forward to talking to you both to share a delicious virtual dessert and whoever else would like to join us. :VeryHappy:

:emoticon-hug: to you both.

I don't even now how to "chat" online. I have really slow dial up and think that it is unlikely I can. Probably like conversing with someone on the moon- too much lag time.

Anyway Happy Birthday and save me some of the dessert!!!

Hi Enjoy,

I get a kick out of chats, with the lag time. Because of the lag, it never fails that there is some sort of thread like this, usually with me being the one with the blooper at the end:

Sammy: My lung function is so good that I get to go off my chemo, yay!
Julie: I'm posting from hospice, they say I only have a few days left to go.
Me: Hooray, that's the best news I've heard all week!

Okay, maybe I don't blooper quite that bad, but I always seem to be out of step with everything. It's hard to tell in chat if you're thinking too fast...or too slow. But in any event, it's a wonderful thing to be able to "talk" to others in a similar boat. And our Chat Hosts, Jefa, Sheryl and Susie, are simply incredible -- very knowledgeable, very kind, and very dedicated too.

One thing worth mentioning is that we don't have "cliques" around here. Newcomers and old-timers alike are always very welcome to all the chats, as we always welcome our new friends with open arms. We all have plenty of love and hugs to share!

:emoticon-hug:

Happy B-day Susie and Jo! Won't see you in chat tomorrow as I have an appointment at the ICD clinic...pacemaker check up. It's an early start and I haven't felt great for a few days now, what a relief to know that while we're out Ma will be doing some housework for me... :emoticons-yes:

Take care.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Amanda and I do hope your pacemaker check goes well. (I wish your mother would do some housework for me!!)

Shelley, I was in hysterics over your 'conversation' because that's exactly what happens to me in the chat room. In my case it's because I type very slowly and what with the time lag , the time it takes me to read and then think of a good reply, usually means I'm always about two conversations behind everyone else!!
