I noticed a lot of us use the 'Live' avatars that are provided on this site and I always wonder who all the add ons are, pets as well as people. So I thought I would introduce mine and see if anyone wanted to share theirs or why they have certain things with them?
The handsome young man beside me is my husband (of course) hehe, the white cat in the back is Dizzy Galespie, Dizzy for short. The black cat in the front is Gertus Trudus Pestus, the Roman cat, Gertie for short. The tortie is Stinky Dinky, Dinky for short. And last but not least the fat ginger cat is Newbie Dude, Dude for short hehe. An he is VERY fat for real as well
I am without shoes as I go around the house all day with just socks on, no slippers! I know my husband and his family think I am crazy to not wear any slippers. hehe And I usually have the can of Coke as I drink gallons, but have had to refrain to one can a day due to my new diet!
So that is me and my family so to speak, would love to hear about everyone else's.

The laughing girl in my avatar is Mhairi, my 'middle child.' She's 10 now and a real clown. The one in my profile photo is Christie, the baby of the family at 6 years old. Pip, our classic Border Collie, is 14 and absolutely camera shy, so you are unlikely to see a photo of her unless I can get lucky and sneak up on her. Yesterday I nearly got a photo of my three and our granddog, Nara, who is just about to turn 2. Only Pip is not a rescue. I bartered for her, helping my friends with a sheep farm with sheering and teaching Shetland Lace knitting classes for their fibre arts business.
Whatever would we do without our animal families? They are as good as our Forum friends at listening and even lick the occasional tears off our faces. They're not too strong on giving good advice, though!

My "summer" avatar has a picture of Domino, my black and white English Cocker Spaniel; my "winter" one was Domino in his fleecy jumper and snowballs in his ears! We also have a black Labrador called Spike and there's a photo of him with Domino and our "house guest" Rooney the Cairn terrier on my profile photo. Rooney stays with us when his owners go on holiday and he's the most inoffensive little chap you could wish to meet, which is just as well as Domino likes to behave like a spoiled brat around him, whilst long suffering Spike is very tolerant and will do anything for a quiet life!
Jeannie's so right; they are very good for giving lots of comfort when needed and I would hate to be without our dogs. They so enrich our lives; both my husband and myself love them very much. (Mind you, I could cheerfully massacre the pair of them on the occasions they've eaten something unspeakable on a walk and brought it up in the back of the car on the way home.!! )

I'm sorry I cannot respond to your post. I had made a few failed attempts to set up my avatar and I still do not understand it.
If anyone would like to walk me through on how to set one up, I would kindly appreciate it. I'm computer challenged!

Hi Annie (and anyone else who wants to set up a Living Avatar),
Shelley has posted the complete instructions in the Welcome Forum.
They are loads of fun, just remember that you are not supposed to import images, etc. from outside sclero.org. Nobody wants us all to catch a virus!

I attempted to set up my avatar on Shelley's instructions a couple time, but I'm still doing something wrong.

I apologize for not replying to your post up until now. I volunteered this morning and had a luncheon date with a girlfriend who also has scleroderma. I met her through the local support group meeting here a couple years ago. I'm on central standard time and will be around after 2 p.m. c.s.t. tomorrow. Take care and

I cannot take credit for my avatar set up, Jeannie set it up for me. I cheated and gave her my password. She did give me instructions if I'd like to make changes. Have a wonderful weekend, take care & gentle hugs.

Again, thank you very much! I love my avatar! I did print out the instructions you had e-mailed. I'm hoping with my brainfog I'll be able to follow it, adding more onto it. Have a great weekend & gentle hugs.

This is a view of my beach in NJ, looking north towards the jetty. I am sorry Snooki is not in it!

Thank you. If it weren't for Jeannie going above & beyond to help me, I wouldn't not have had an avatar. Take care & gentle hugs
