Hi everyone,

I've not been in for a while had quite alot going on. I've been quite depressed lately and seem to have waited forever for my appointment with the specialist to come through. Anyway I promised to update you when I got my appointment and it is on the 24th June.

I hope you are all keeping as well as can be. I will update you on the outcome.

Take care.

Hugs and Loves,

queenie

Hi Queenie,

Congrats on finally getting a specialist appointment!

:emoticon-congratulations:
That can sometimes take ages, as you've probably found out. What restaurant are you going to afterwards?

I ask because we always try to find something more fun and exciting than the doctors appointment to look forward to. So we have a deal that whoever has to go to the doctor (or even the dentist) gets to pick their restaurant afterwards. Boy, did my husband ever get to milk that policy when he had his lung transplant. Sometimes he got 3 squares a day out of the deal. But its so awful being faced with so many appointments with chronic illness that it can really help to have something pleasant to look forward to afterwards, whether it's a meal or a special treat of any sort.

Have you picked your treat yet?

Here are some warm hugs to tide you over in the meantime.

It will be good to get the latest information and treatments. Thank you for letting us know about your appointment and it will be very interesting to hear what they have to say.
Outside of knowing the Beatles (sigh) started in Liverpool, I have no idea what it's like there. If you all have been having the sort of winter that my end of the USA has, that might account for some of your depression. I really react to the weather and always brighten on a sunny day and crash on a gloomy one.
By June, you will have your appointment and hopefully beautiful weather to go with it.
Warmest wishes.

Hi Queenie,

I'm so pleased to hear that you've finally got your appointment with the Sclero specialist. If I have to have a gripe about the NHS it's that unfortunately you do have to wait a while for the first appointment to see a consultant. However, now you've got your date for your appointment you'll hopefully be able to get the help and advice you need.

Be sure to let us know how you get on, won't you?

Hello Queenie

I'm with Shelley, make plans to do something nice afterwards. Are you taking someone with you to the appointment, having another pair of ears in with you can be very helpful as is writing down your questions/matters of concern so you don't forget anything.

I'm sorry you've been feeling depressed at present, it can come with the territory. I have had some bleak periods recently because of the pain issue, what I try to bear in mind is that it's not always been bleak so it won't always be. :emoticons-yes:

Take care and keep posting.

Hi Queenie

It won't be long now...June will be here in no time. I'm with the others, it's good to bring someone else along to write down all the answers for you if at all possible.

I too am sorry to hear you are having some depression issues just now. Not sure if you tried this already, but perhaps your family doctor can help you there? Sometimes people just need a little extra help in that department, if even just for a little while. Take care and keep posting.
Sending good wishes your way!
