Eye Problems – Prevalence Of Eye Disorders Among Baby Boomers Feared.

The population is not only aging but also growing- increasing the cases of dry eye syndrome just from the sheer numbers. The US population will add 50 million people by 2030 and about 4 million of these will have dry eyes. Matthew Bennett. Star Global Tribune. 06/28/11. (Also see: Dry Eye and Eye Involvement)

This was a very enlightening article, Janey. Thank you for posting the link!

My mother has Macular Degeneration, as well as Glaucoma and happens to use those eye drops. Though she is (already) legally blind, she feels she has lost even MORE of her sight. For her eye appointment, I will be bringing a copy of this article with me.

I have Sjogrens and experience the symptoms spoken of here, as well. I have cataracts, which I feel were (possibly) brought on as a result of the dry eyes :emoticon-dont-know: (?)
I too, will be seeing my eye doctor soon, with this information in hand.
Special Hugs,
