I am wondering if what I am seeing is a new forum format? I can't see anything written about it being changed. Could someone shine some light on this for me? Where are the emoticons? Thanks! -Ann

Hi Ann,

This is the new forum format. It's much clearer and easier to negotiate especially with the medical information.

In the "Add reply" box, if you click on the emoticon logo second line down and ninth in from the left it will bring the emoticons back up again. To get rid of them again, just click on the "x" in the top left hand corner of them.

Hope that helps! smile.gif

I thought the new format was changed about a week ago or so. I am a bit confused but I will sort this out. Thanks for the reply Joelf, I hope to find the emoticons.

Hi Ann,
Your view is different depending on the type of device and operating system it uses. Right now I am using a Xoom tablet and Android OS. Talk about minimalism. Using windows laptop gets me what I expect to see. Still some tweaking to do :-)

Hi Ann,

Yes we are in the midst of redesigning the whole main website and the forums.

One of the main things you might be noticing is that we now have a much faster "skin" for mobile devices. It is mostly in blues and without anything fancy so that it can be quickly downloaded on many different phones and smaller devices. It lacks all the bells and whistles but that is also what makes it download much faster.

The desktop version of the forums is also less fancy, with fewer graphics. You won't see the avatars if you aren't signed in on the desktop version, and you won't see them at all on mobile devices. You'll notice our old logo is gone on all versions and replaced with a text "logo" instead -- because it shows up much more readable on smaller devices and mobiles.

Meanwhile, please try out the drop-down menu at the top of all versions. It should help you speed through to significant portions of the main site -- which is running enormously faster than it was just a few weeks ago. Although we are continually making upgrades to the main site and the forums, including adding new content every day, most of them aren't quite as visible or noticeable as the ones we've made the last few weeks.

People with high speed connections may not notice too much difference, but people with slower or smaller connections should notice a huge improvement in accessibility.

We are going to be experimenting with some more new settings this week. If you have any issues viewing or using the forum, please let me know! Just email [email protected] letting us know your operating system, browser, and type of computer or mobile device as well as what's wrong. We have dozens of settings that we can modify to help resolve any issues!

Thanks for your help in making our forums shine!
