Hi Everyone,
Hoping you all are feeling o.k, I haven't been on this site for awhile just thought I would take a break.
I have been experiencing numbness./weakness and pins and needles in both hands and fingers in the morning for a few years now and I'm just wondering could this be sclero related?. I haven't been officially diagnosed as having sclero yet just have a high ANA and lots of symptoms. I have decided to see another rheumatologist at my local hospital and also have another appt to see a 3rd rheumatologist at another hospital who has a clinic there that specialises in Scleroderma. I will see who I feel comfortable with and who seems to know what they are talking about!!!
For the last few days I have noticed that 2 fingers on my right hand are thicker than my left hand, they are not red or puffy/swollen , is this the beginning of hand changes that my rheumatologist is looking for?. (I still have the feeling of my fingers tightening when I clench them).
Also, the bumps I mentioned in one of my other posts on my hands are still appearing some are in clumps on one of my fingers that seem to be thickened.
Anyway have a good day your thoughts or opinions are always appreciated.
Thanks
Celia :

Hi Celia,
When I first had symptoms, every morning when I woke up, my hands felt swollen, tight and had pins and needles. Maybe this is what you needed for your dr to give you a diagnosis.

Please let us know what happens with your up coming visits.

Hugs,
Lisa

Hi Celia,
When I wake up my hands are weak, twitchy, and I drop stuff. Sometimes one or both is cold too. I drop stuff all day, but it is really bad in the morning - I have to move my hands around to get the blood flowing before I try to do anything like feed the cats or make coffee, or else I just drop things and make a mess.

Hi Celia,

The changes you are describing could or could not be related to sclero. Everyone manifests symptoms a bit differently.

I have similar symptoms - tingling in forearms, fingers and swelling every morning. But it's not related to the sclero. That isn't to say yours isn't, so the best bet is to describe all of it to your rheumatologist and see what he/she comes up with.

Its all such a guessing game at times.
Warm and gentle hugs,
