Hi to all those in all States of Australia,

Today the sun is out, the blossoms are falling and the air has a distinct warmth.

Hope you are all feeling the benefits.

Wishing you all some improvement over the next few weeks.

Kind regards to all,

Robyn

Hi Robyn and all our Australian members,

I do hope everyone is feeling as well as possible and looking forward to the coming Summer.

How lovely to be going into Spring now; in the UK we're heading for Autumn. :( Unfortunately this year we seem to have bypassed Summer completely, apart from the odd dry day!

Well, to all those in the southern hemisphere, enjoy this spring and summer to come! :happy-day:

As I sadly watch the signs of summer fading, the birds flying south, the hooded gulls losing their hoods, and the sun moving your direction in the sky I am shopping for long pants because mine have shrunk over the summer :emoticon-dont-know: and I am dreading putting my sandals away because shoes hurt these sclero feet of mine. Out will come the long underwear :( and I have already put gloves and socks in my beach bag. We are already waking up to cooler mornings and piling more blankets on the bed.

But I have comfort in knowing I had a great summer being able to enjoy the things I love and that the sun will travel back my way one day...

Hi girls,

My sentiments exactly. When our days get shorter and the leaves fall I do think of all our friends in the Northern Hemisphere who will be raking the benefits of the season's change.

I have noticed with my friends from the scleroderma community here that not only does the body improve, especially Raynaud's etc., but also the mind. The spirits lift when you can go outdoors and enjoy what nature has to offer, and I am sure the exercise one can do in the Spring and Summer also helps the endorphins.

We are so lucky we have such wonderful clothing. We are triallying silver lined gloves here in Victoria and so far the results have been excellent. No doubt you have had them for years.

Kind regards to all,
Robyn

Robyn,
What exactly are silver lined gloves? When I searched for them the items that came up looked like rubber gloves and it is mentioned that they are chemical resistant. They didn't look like anything that would keep hands warm.

Thanks,

Hi Miocean,

I thought you would have known about these. They are a snuggly fitting glove that has silver thread intertwined into the weave.

I will be seeing one of people trialling these, we have two suppliers, and will let you know the outcome and where you can get them.

Other States are using them and I have heard reference to them from the UK. Will let you know.

Kind regards,
Robyn

Hello Miocean

Google Raynaud's silver gloves and a selection of places to buy the gloves should come up.

Take care.

Hi Robyn and all our Australian friends,

I understand that you're in the middle of a gigantic heatwave at the moment. Not so good though is the forest fires you're experiencing and I do hope that none of you have been badly affected by them.

The chance of a heatwave would a fine thing in the UK, where throughout the whole winter (and most of last summer) we've had rain, rain, rain, rain, more rain and even more rain than that!! :( This has caused a lot of bad flooding and on one occasion I had to drive round half the county to get back home as all the side roads were impassable (and I really didn't want to subject my little old car to a soaking, which probably would have finished it off......it's on borrowed time anyway and it will break my heart when it finally turns it's toes up!! :emoticon-crying-kleenex: )

Here's hoping we in the UK have a better summer in 2013 and our Australian friends continue to have warm weather (but not too hot.....don't want much, do I??!! ;) )
