Oxidative stress in Mexicans with diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis (dcSSc).

Mexican dcSSc patients had elevated lipid/protein oxidative stress (OS) with respect to healthy controls. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive Protein (CRP) were elevated in a great number of dcSSc patients which suggests that they have a continuous stimulus for endothelial dysfunction and accelerated atherogenesis. Pub Med Rheumatol Int. 2013 Mar 2. (Also see: Causes of Scleroderma: Oxidative Stress)
