Coping with ordeal. At 13, Dominique Griffith cooked, washed and cleaned her family's home while taking care of her pregnant mother who was confined to bed after a fall at work. Then she was an energetic child, feisty and full of life, but today, less than five years later, Dominique can hardly walk and is in constant pain.
