The Prevalence of Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) in Primary Antiphospholipid Syndrome (PAPS).

 

PAPS patients have a higher incidence of IDA and Iron deficient erythropoiesis (IDE) compared to healthy controls. This can be attributed to inadequate ingestion of folic acid and vitamin C. Turkish Journal of Rheumatology. (Also see: Antiphospholipid Syndrome and Anemia of Chronic Disease)
