I take the amitriptyline for sleep. I also take a multiple vitamin and caltrate. I don't really take anything specifically for fibromyalgia. I walk in the pool or at the mall for at least 30 minutes a day. If I didn't do this I would be really stiff!!!!!!!!
A few years back I went to a nutritionist because many people think people with fibromyalgia should avoid certain foods. I also was put on many supplements. I ended up getting very sick. At this point I eat whatever feels good going down. My GERD is so bad.
Take Care!

Thanks Sam for replying to my post.

Nan, you mentioned that you take Endep(amitriptyline) to help you sleep, I was taking 50mg at night for depression.
I didn't realise that Endep was the best med for Fibromyalgia also, so my rheumatologist told me. I was on 25 mg at night but found it didn't really help my Fibromyalgia so I increased it to 50mg at night and It worked beautifully, I was pain free only in my chest area. I have sinced been advised to stop this med for 2 weeks and my rheumatologist has prescribed me with something else to try after 2 weeks ( it takes 2 weeks for the Endep to go out of my system), as I was suffering badly from a dry esophagus( side affect from Endep).

I am day 4 without the Endep and the pain in my chest area is slowly returning, I have also been sleeping very poorly  , hopefully I will sleep better tonight or I won't be a happy camper tomorrow

Take care Nan

Water aerobics is "supposed" to be great for Fibromyalgia, even though I haven't gotten started with it yet, per my doctor's recommendation. Once I get moved and settled a bit... I'm anxious to get with it in the fall.
BTW... I also take nothing for my Fibro... another "something" to take doesn't excite me too much.
Nearly ten years ago, I was taking Amitriptyline to help me sleep better, but I was waking up too groggy
I hope you can find something that helps with your Fibro.

Hi there, I haven't posted a while, I go back & forth between wondering if I have or am getting sclero....so when new things happen I keep coming here with questions...hope that is ok.

Anywho, as far as fibro, I take Relafen (which I've read nsaids don't work on fibromyalgia pain....so either I don't have fibro or the pain is because of other stuff). I also take Verapamil for migrains...but the neuro said they are migrains that don't have a headache as a symptom. He said he'll slowly increase the dose & that it may help with the Raynaud's eventually.
