The 2nd Annual Scoring for Scleroderma Women's Soccer Tournament to benefit the nonprofit International Scleroderma Network is off to a great start! The tournament is scheduled for Friday, June 22, 2007. Our indoor fields, located at the Canton Sports Plex, in Canton, Massachusetts have been donated! We are expecting at least 50 to 60 people to participate as well as other goods to be donated, such as water and soccer balls. We are all very excited and looking forward to this being another great success! Posted 04-12-07 by Lisa Bulman, ISN Fundraiser.

Lisa,
Do you ever stop? You're incredible. You just complete one successful fund raiser and start another one. Well, you go girl!

BTW - When I received my package from Pampered Chef there was a note that said $650 were raised for ISN. Was this the final amount? That's wonderful! At 15% of commission, that's a lot of sales! Great job once again!

Thanks guys!

I am not sure if I am playing this year because it was so crazy last year, but who knows...sometimes I can't resist! I still have to have my tooth fixed...I'm a big chicken.

Actually Janey we raised more money than that! :) With the commisions, a few dollar donations, less my cost for food...it is about $750. Yippeeee

I'll be sure to keep you posted on all of my donations for the tournament!

Lisa

Thank you ladies!

Janey, I still have not had my tooth fixed since last time. I am not willing to part with it yet!!

Hopefully I'll raise just as much money as last year, maybe more!

Sounds like a fun day. How is it that the funds are raised? Are there pledges for team points or players or what?

Hi Jefa,

This is how it works: The indoor fields are donated! Every player pays a registration fee of $35. They have the option to request donations from friends and family, which some of them do. We often receive corporate donations and we sell tons of raffle tickets for great prizes!
Everyone that helps donates their time and enery to make it a huge a success!

Lisa

The tournament was another huge success!

I am not sure of the exact amount that was raised because donations are still coming in, but it is somewhere around $4,000! I was a little disappointed because it wasn't as much as last year but overall it is great!

There were 40 women in the tournament plus volunteers who made this a success. The women were split into five teams and each team played four twenty-five minute games. Registration began at 6:30 and the first games kicked off at 7:30. Our referees, Tony and Igor, gave up their Friday night to donate their referee skills on the fields as well. We had awesome raffle prizes donated and every player received a gift bag of donated items as well. The Canton Sports Plex generously donated the fields again this year. American Acoustical Contractors,Franklin Sports, Dick's Sporting Goods, Bank of Canton, Barrowsville Station Liquor Market & Deli, Brockton Rox, C. Verc Inc., Elegant Accents, Elite Health & Fitness, New England Revolution, Six Flags New England, Somersault Gymnastics Center, Town Spa, Water Country and Web Corp. generously donated items such as admission passes, game passes, gift cards, items for our raffle or gift bags (soccer balls, shin guards, tshirts, frisbees, coupons)! Thank you to all of these contributors and to my friends and family who helped along the way and the night of the tournament! Without your contributions and help this year's tournament would not have been a succes.

Wow! I am suitably impressed by the outcome. Am I right in assuming that you did yourself no personal injuries this year? :)

You should be very proud of yourself, Lisa. Great job.

Jefa

Hi Lisa,

I'm absolutely overjoyed with the tremendous success of your 2nd Annual Scoring for Scleroderma soccer tournament!!!

It is fabulous the way you've involved the community, players, and businesses, and all of that also helps raise awareness for scleroderma, too, plus vital funds for us to continue delivering stellar research, support, education and awareness for scleroderma all around the world.

We all truly appreciate your efforts -- and your fabulous enthusiasm, too!! Kudos on another event very well done and excellently managed by you, from start to finish.
Warm Hugs,
