Does anyone have trouble with drinking fountains? In the two months I've found If I try to drink anything when I'm not perfectly upright, I can't swallow it, or it goes down the wrong pipe. Could this be the beginning of swallowing difficulties? I have heartburn often and acid in my throat, but I have not had trouble swallowing until this.

Bunky,

Glad your with us and sorry to hear about the drinking problems. That is something you really need to get checked out before you do any permanent damage to your esophogus. Depending on your diagnoses, it may be easily treated.

I've diffuse sclero withlung, heart, kidney and esophogeal involvement and have had my first dialation last month.

Everyone on this site can give you good info, but we are all different so is this condition that brings us together here.

Good Luck and take care!

No can't say I have any troubles with bending over to a drinking fountain and having it go down OK. Definitely something to mention to your doctor though. Sorry you are having troubles. :(
