Hello,
Does anyone know the symptoms of pulmonary hypertension? I should know at this point in the game but I don't.

I am sad to find out that a friend of mine that I met on the Internet has just passed away from pulmonary hypertension. He also had systemic sclerosis. He was on Flolan. I guess it was him time, but I am really sad for his loving wife, whom I became close to. This young man was only 34 and fought really hard.

Jen

Hi Jen,
I am so sorry for your loss. It is tough to deal with the loss of a freiend especially when they have something like this.

Here is some info on pulmonary hypertension.

Hugs,
Lisa

Jennifer,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. It's a hard oss at such a young age.

As we all know, PH can be dangerous that's why it's necessary to catch and treat it early. Lisa provided a great link and here is another for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. I've found some good information there as well.

Thanks everyone. It is sad but I did a lot of research last night and the odds of PH in those of us with Scleroderma are not that huge so I hope I did not spook anyone. Plus, it is treatable. People need to be aware that they need to keep a look out for this though. Pulmonary Hypertension can develop in folks without interstitial lung disease. If you have symptoms, do not disregard them.
Thanks again.
Jennifer :) TGIF

Thanks for the warning, Jen. Hey, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. His wife must be devastated -- I am sure she will appreciate having you as a friend to turn to.

Jennifer,

So sorry about your friend. I know that with your help his wife can find the strength she needs to get through this transition. I'm going to check out the link Janey provided and catch up on PH. I have systemic sclerosis-very fast and very aggresive so tht warning is much appreciated.

Warm wishes sent to you and your friend.
