I just wanted to let you all know that I walked four miles today!! I felt so extremely blessed. Last year at this time I could hardly walk at all and I required a wheel chair if I wanted to be out and about with family or friends. So for those of you who might be feeling discouraged, know that better days really do come!

Hi, Rosa. Glad to see you posting again and feeling so much better. Do remember to pace yourself, though.
Warm wishes,

Hi Rosa,

Way to go girl! You have fought a long battle and good to see you back. Wow, four miles in incredible. Did you work up to this slowly? I love my water aerobics but walk my dogs when I can. Walking four miles is a long way, I AM IMPRESSED>Susie54

Congratulations on the 4 miles. I am proof too. One year ago, I could barely do stairs, sometimes I would even get stuck on the ground. Today, I can walk a few miles too and I am not nearly as weak or winded. There is so much hope, you just have to start your program very slowly and sometimes even under the safety net of a rehab center.

Keep up the good work. Just don't over do it.
Take Care,
Jen

I just wanted to clarify a discrepency that was brought to my attention in a previous post. My official diagnosis was Jan 2006 at Johns hopkins not Jan 2005. I had been symptomatic for six months prior to diagnosis. I am doing tremendously better than I was last year at this time!

I have been in rehab/physical therapy twice a week for the last six months. I have slowly worked my way up to my current activity levels. I am enjoying every day I can walk with my husband again.

Rosa, unbelieveable, 4 miles that's unheard of. When I was feeling better, I used to walk 3 miles everyday. I just can't seem to get myself motivated. I envy you, that's wonderfull news. Congrats to you.
