City scleroderma sufferer relies on husband for ‘everything’. Last month, Catherine M. Beury, Pottsville, lost the ability to write. Diagnosed with CREST scleroderma, more than 20 years ago, Beury’s fingers don’t seem to belong to her body anymore. Beury’s husband, Howard, a former machinist, is adjusting to the new role of caretaker, washing laundry, helping his wife bathe, preparing TV dinners. The Republican & Herald. 04/16/07.
