Hi, I'm 28 years old and have localized linear scleroderma. I also have patches of very hard skin on my right side at the bottom of my rib cage and at my belly button. I am wondering if anyone out there has patches on their stomach and have become pregnant? I have gone to the specialist and she seemed very unsure if I will be able to carry a child and has yet to get back to me.

I would just like some advice or thoughts on this topic, anything will be appreciated!

Thanks

Tara L

Hello Tara, and Welcome to the forums. I am so glad that you found us.

I didn't find a whole lot of info in Pregnancy and Linear Scleroderma, so hopfully someone else here on the forums can help you out with their experience.

One thing to consider is what medications you are taking. I am sure the doctor has discussed with you the pros and cons and what you should and should not take.

Tara,
I don't have any personal experiences to help you out, but you could do a ISN site search on "linear pregnancy" and you'll find several links to personal stories of women who have linear and have had children. Some provide personal email addresses so you could email them and get more information.

I hope you find the answer to your question.

Thank-you for all of your help, I really do appreciate it.

I went to my family doctor yesterday and she is going to refer me to an internist who deals with any type of disease and pregnancy. So maybe she will be able to get some information for me.

From what I have read and heard is that people like me should be able to have a baby, I just want to be sure!

Any further advice is always welcome!

Thanks

Tara
