I haven't been on line in a while, I just can't sit at the computer very long. I get bad neck and shoulder pain as well as body pain. I have been having this really bad burning sensation on my right hand under the skin on top. My hands look swollen and ache a lot. I was wondering if any of you have experianced this?

Hi Jackie,

So nice to hear from you. I'm sorry you have been doing poorly as of late. YES I do have the feeling you are describing. I have no idea what causes it and it goes away on it's own over time.

I hope others can chime in that may know more about it than I.

Hang in there.

Thank you Pamela for getting back to me. I guess this is uncommon, considering I just got one response and that was yours. Usually I feel worse in the winter months, but lately this body pain has been bad. My Neuro. is increasing my Lyrica by 150 mgs., so I'm hoping this works. This mess on my legs is getting worse. I've had two differant biopsies done and they both came up with nothing. I can't wear shorts or a bathing suit, because this rash on my legs is so bad. I guess the doctor's just can't find an answer for this one. I'll just keep using the Steroid cream they gave me, and hopefully some day soon the rash will respond. I guess your weather over there has been warm. I think ours is suppose to be nice next week. I have family coming from Kelowna on the 27th, so I'm looking forward to that. Well, you take care and have a great weekend.

This must be so miserable for you! Have you tried Fish Oil (taking it internally)? I wonder if that would help with this feeling. Moisturizing from the inside out so to speak.

Yes it's been very warm!! Loving every minute of it.

You have a great weekend too.

I also have a burning feeling. It's especially bad, on my left hand, just between my index and middle finger. It burns so bad that I blow on it or put it in cool water, of course none of that works. I would love to know what the cause is. Good luck. gizelle

Hi, Jackie. I also get a burning feeling on the tops of both hands, nearer to the wrist, but not on the wrists. I assumed that this is from my inflammatory arthritis, since there are quite a few joints clustered in that part of the hand. But it sounds like you are describing pain at the skin level. It is hard to pinpoint the source of pain, especially since it sometimes referred pain. Don't worry too much if you don't get a reply right away. At busy times it takes some of us longer to catch up on the reading and take the time to reply. My pain responds to anti-inflammatories. I am currently taking an NSAID, indomethacin.
Warm wishes,
Jefa

Hi,

I have had that come and go as well. I have no clue what it is. I am allergic to NSAIDS so.....it mainly just goes as mysteriously as it comes.

Hi girls, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I'm glad to hear, that I'm not the only one, this is happening to. That is exactly what I want to do, is run my hand under cold water because it feels like something burned me. I called my Rheumies office and left a message on Friday to see if there's anything I can do for this. I don't have the burning constantly, it's wierd, just all of a sudden it comes and goes. Thank you Jefa and Gizelle for getting back to me and thanks again Pamela. I might try the fish oil, I've heard that's good for a few differant things. Take care.

Hi Jackie, I've just started having burning in the past couple of days and I remembered reading your post. Mine is on my leg from the knee down. I have to put it out of the covers at night cause it's so hot. I have peripheral neuropathy in that leg and my toes are swollen and painful so I'm thinking it must have something to do with that.
Take care and hope you find some relief,
Hugs, Piper

I have not been diagnosed, but I am having this feeling in my left hand on my hand knuckles. I have a possible digital ulcer on my index finger hand knuckle and the two knuckles beside of them go from burning to itching like crazy. Both feel as if they are coming from the inside.

Hello to all of you today. I would like to thank Piper and Rachael, for your replies to my burning skin problem. I'm not having that problem at the moment. I'm having major pain, in my neck, shoulder and back area today. I have to go out and cut the grass today, I really do not know how I'm going to handle that. Well, take care to all of you today.
