I had a routine lung scan done and my general practitioner call and said I have a benign lung nodule. Should I see my lung doctor and have more tests? Is anyone familiar with Lung Nodules? Thanks, Gizelle

Gizelle,
I dont' know anything about lung nodules. I am sure it spooks you, but at least it is benign. My question to the DR. would be is it positively benign?

Maybe a call to your lung Dr. is in order just so you have some peace of mind. I would like to know more about your lung nodule. Do you have lung disease or a history of smoking?

I hope you are feeling OK!!!
Jennifer

Gizelle, I wrote about lung nodules a couple months back I believe. I was first diagnosed with two in the left lung, lower quadrant. That was a year ago. I was told that most likely they were benign but to get Ct scans every 6 months to watch. In May I went for the second Ct and now I show that I have a cluster of 5 or 6. I was told to come back in October for another scan. If there are more changes I will be sent to a lung specialist. Apparently, most lung nodules are granulomas and harden on there own or shrink away. Mine didn't so I won't know more until after Octobers testing, if any decisions were to be made. Keep us informed on what they decide to do with yours. What did your doctor tell you about the nodules? So far, mine are just being watched. I will get back on my situation when I know more. Anyone else out there had recent Ct's that showed nodules in their lungs? I hope not. Just wondering. Oh! Gizelle, how is the bladder since your surgery? Everything perfect now? Should be just about back to normal about now. Sheryl

I quit smoking in 1991. I'm gonna go to my lung doctor and make sure everything is ok.

Hi Gizelle,
I too have a 4cm lung nodule, I happened to get my hospital records and found this out by chance. My rheumatologist did not mention it to me. I am due to see my rheumatologist in a couple of days time and I shall discuss this with her then.
By the way, I have never smoked!.
Best wishes
Celia :P

Gizelle,
I love your name, by the way. I hope you are doing OK. I am certain the news of the nodule is alarming. I am anxious to hear what you find out.
Have a great weekend,
Jennifer

Gizelle,

I have nodules on my vocal chords. doctor says they are from my sclero cough and continuous clearing my throat, because it feels like there is always something there. She says it "slaps" the chords together and causes the nodules, kinda like calluses. Maybe yours are formed from coughing also, as a lot of us have that wretched cough.

Good Luck, I hope it is nothing ot be concerned about!
