I am not in a good mood at all, just really confused to what to do next. I dont know if I really want to continue this is been going on since 2003. Oh well, Sam

Hi Sam,

I'm very sorry to hear that. It would be good to rely on your lawyer's advice now, whatever that is. If they feel there is definitely a strong case for appeal, go for it.

You might have a doctor on your medical team who is not supportive of your disability application. If so, you may want to change doctors before filing an appeal. And make sure your lawyer has sufficient experience in such cases, too.

Unfortunately, it is just a very long and difficult process for anyone to obtain benefits, and it doesn't always work, even with appeals. I hope you can pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and figure out a way to make lemonade out of these lemons.
Warm Hugs,

Hi Sam,

I am so sorry. Don't give up. Appeal however many times you need too. You know I was not too impressed with the attorney you used. I wonder if you should try another person? Again, I'm so sorry hon.
Warm and gentle hugs,

I have been going thru the same thing with disabilty -I am so disgusted and depressed - I don't know what else I could possible do to convince them -
They want to send me for psych elevation. They have to be kidding - Sclero is one of the documented disabilities - in the 1400 catergory - not to mention that I have Pulm fibrosis and PAH - reynaurds and sjorgrens -

Sorry Sam and JG07. What a stressful situation. JG, I cannot believe they want to send you for pysche evaluation. How can the government recommend that?
I "only" have sclero with ILD and I got approved for disability. I do not receive SS income but I have Medicare. Did you all get to look at the forms your Dr. completed? I saw mine and they put down severe lung disease and the codes were the most severe.
Maybe you could have a one on one with your doctors.
Good luck!

I am so sorry you were denied again. I know how frustrating it can be. It took me 4 1/2 years and a change of lawyers before I was finally approved. I never thought the day would come until I finally got the good news. The back pay for that length of time was nice and really came in handy! Good luck to you if you continue on.

Sorry to hear about your denial. I just received my Disability Benefits after 6 months of wrangling. I used a national firm (PM me for the name). I was diagnosed with Diffuse Sclero on Jan. 4, 2007 and that is when my disability will start from.

We will have to pay the attorneys of course and that is a big decision factor for a lot of people. I don't have a great outlook for prognosis because my disease is running rampant (maybe two years) and the money will be a non- issue after I get my first check. Our savings will hit a bump, but that;s what it's for. Those very, very rainy days...

Good luck and never stop fighting for what you need and deserve to get. Don't forget to PM me if you want.

Sending hugs - tj903
