I have started my first dose of Prednisolone this morning which my rheumatologist has prescribed for a short course for me ( and yes I am aware of all the risks).

About lunch time I have noticed pains in my shins, achilles area stopping at the calf, on both legs, I am also very SOB today. It feels like growing pains.

Has anyone experienced this?

Many thanks

Hi, Celia

I have been experiencing similar pains, and I have never taken prednisolone. The tendons in my lower legs are feeling tight and pulled, the muscles are feeling heavy, as if gravity has extra pull, and my skin feels tight, itchy and thick, plus more hair is going from my shins. I have similar feelings in my wrists and forearms. If I turn my arms straight up from my elbows, they feel extra heavy and achy, the same as the lower legs. This been going on for several weeks, actually. I have also been experiencing shortness of breath after mild exertion. My general practitioner ordered a chest xray at my Monday appointment. Still waiting for results.
Warm wishes,

Hmmm this is interesting. I am not on predisone, but for the past 2 weeks I have been having these pains, muscle weakness etc. I mentioned last night to my family that I normally don't start hurting like this until winter. Our weather is cooling down a bit but still in the high 80's during the day.

It never ceases to amaze me how we all seem to follow a very similar pattern in our sx.

Much love to you all.

Hello All
Birdman is experiencing the same soreness in his arms and hands. I didn't know what it was but he has had it now for about two weeks. He said it hurts to wave and to pick up even a glass of water. He goes for his 5th infusion this Friday. We aren't seeing any improvment yet but the doctor said maybe we will after the 6th infusion.
Hugs for All,

Julie (Bird Lady)
