No we don't have a chat room, however you can send someone a private message that they will receive as soon as they log on - they will be the only ones to receive it and we cannot view it, or you can email them.

Are you considering to get a chat room or is it possible for this site? :)

Hi Jaxs,

We do have a Chat Room. It's not very fancy, but it works. People can arrange to meet their friends there at any time.

All the rules that apply to the forum also apply to the chat, of course. We didn't really want to make the room public until it was fancier ;) but it is usable.

Just go to Sclero Chat

We highly recommend having a topic and a time limit for any chat, even a casual one.

Always remember that the chat room is not private. Any guest can read whatever is being discussed.

Yay!

The only bummer is that my work blocks the chat room. So I can't chat while at work!

Glad we have it availble though.
Take care and stay warm,

Michelle

Is there any particular time that most people use this room. Everytime I pop in, there is no one there. Is it my breath? heehheehehe

Maybe I'll catch someone in there soon.

Catch ya' later!
Happy people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have!

Warm and Happy to you! Vee

You can arrange with other people a special time to chat with them, then meet them in the chat room.

Our programmers have been working on installing a fancy chat room but it will be a little while yet before it is integrated with our forums (technical difficulties right now).

But, very few people have this bare-bones chat room link, so odds are nobody will be there by accident.

Time zones make it a challenge to meet as well, so be sure to consult the World Clock when scheduling with people in another time zone. (Just do an internet search for World Clock.)

Also, set a time limit up front, so nobody feels you are abandoning them if they are expecting a one hour chat and you need to leave in ten minutes. Setting reasonable expectations and topic(s) helps people feel more positive about the outcomes of a chat.

For example, if you are thinking you just want to get to know someone with a one hour personal chat, and they are thinking this is their prime time to ask you about Raynaud's treatments in five minutes flat, there is going to be an inevitable clash in the chat, leaving both parties feeling dissatisfied. But if you agree ahead of time that you will spend the first 10 minutes on getting to know each other, and then 10 minutes on Raynaud's (and then chat is over when your timer goes off), then both (or all) of you will feel satisfied and really look forward to your next chat!
