Hello!
Does it mean anything when the skin thickening moves to the trunk?

My understanding is that if the thickening occurs above the elbows, and down to chest etc. etc. it puts you in the "diffuse" category.

Jen,

I agree. I was first told that I had limited sclero, back in '98. After being seen by one of the top sclero specialists last year, he informed me that I had diffuse, because my chest skin was involved. Anything other than the hands, feet, face and neck, falls into the diffuse category. At least that's what I was told.

Are you starting to see skin involvement, Jen?
Warm wishes,

Thanks y'all, said in a slight Arkansan accent :)

Jefa, no I have no skin involvement and am 99% sure I never will. You'll never guess...one of my Internet friends has skin involvement and it is now on her trunk. I told her to join here, as it's a wealth of information. I honestly don't know how people with Scleroderma can NOT be a member here.
So, I was helping her. :)

I am all good!

I have diffuse also. My trunk has started to soften. Even my gyn noticed it! I wish the rest of my body would soften as well, but I am grateful for what has happened.

Jen:

You ae so right. Such a fantastic siite with "our family" of conditions. I would have been lost had I not been surfing and found this family. I was so alone, disillusioned and lost. This group is a godsend and my reason to cope. love you guys..........thank you, thank you, thank you
