Hi friends:

I fairly computer oriented, but I still do not have a handle on the chat room routine yet. When I click on the link, it brings up my name and message send block without any ability to enter a message. Are there limited times and dates to chat; ie a schedule? Am I doing something wrong? Please let me know how this works.

Thanks to all.........................
Tru

Tru, are you clicking on the link that Shelley gave us a few weeks ago? If so, that is the problem. Up above (look up) on the purple line, you will see "blogs", "gallery" "chat" "members" etc. Click on that white chat word.

Does this help?

truman,

If you are getting the test box, down on the bottom where the "send" box is, directly to the left of it is the typing box. Click on it to get the texting prompter on it and then type and send. I hope you get in. We will be chatting again on this Sunday, 9:00pm est time.

I am also having problems accessing the Chat.
I can get into the main chat window, which is blank, then there is nothing.
I am computer literate and also can't work this out.

It takes two to tango. Once you get another one (or more) in the room, that big white space will fill up with lines quicker than you know. If you want to play, PM someone to arrange a session to figure it out together. You should see your sign on name (not necessarily your display name) on the upper right hand corner. If someone else enters the room, their name will show up in the list. If you are the only one in the room, your text will not be seen by anyone, but you can practice by yourself, too.
Warm wishes,
Jefa

Jefa,

It takes two to tango, but it takes a bunch to do the Conga!

Let's dance! Don't forget, tonight at 9 EST. I'm not sure how that translates, but there is a schedule in the Sclero Den.

Hope to see ya's there!

I wonder if there were two or three of us trying to get in the chat room now if we could? I just went in there and it said a moderator had to be present before we could chat. Strange. So if two or more people wanted to meet there wouldn't be a moderator there. Something else I was wondering about. Is there a way to have the chat room clicked on and left open and still be able to view regular posts? Then, if someone came into the chat room you could go in there and chat if you wanted to. Adding more fuel to the fire I guess. Sheryl

Hi Guys, I am here in the chat room, but there is a glitch with the approve message box.

Okay we have it figured out...for the most part. See you there.

Hi Sheryl,

It is set now so that people can chat without a moderator present.

However, even though a moderator is not present, all the forum guidelines still apply. If you are in an unmoderated chat and someone enters who does not abide by the rules, please ask them to read the forum guidelines before participating any further. If they persist anyway, send us their username and we will de-activate their forum membership. If you notice any forum moderator online at the time, you can also ask them to join the chat and they can instantly delete the membership. (Some spammers like to try to attack unmoderated chats <sigh>.)

Forum members may contact each other and arrange times for private chats, any time they wish except for during the pre-scheduled ISN Chat times that are established by Erin.

Hello Shelly and Erin, I just logged into the chat room and the messages from last night are still showing up on my screen. Infact I just was getting off when Emmi and Pam came in. Sorry I didn't see you enter before leaving the room. Anyways, the screen is still up and showing. I don't know if others go into the chat room now if yesterdays posts are there for everyone to see or it is just on the screens of us that were in the chat room. Also, it sure would be nice if we could open up a chat room or just open the chat and go back and forth between the chat room while waiting for others to arrive and still be able to read our posts or work or read other things on the sight. Is that possible girls? I know you want to rip my head off. But, it would be a great feature. Can't wait to get others into the chat room. Thanks for fixing all the problems last night. That was unreal all the popping up of that one screen and not letting us type. I hope Patty was able to figure out how to get into the chat now. Have fun on Tuesday. Sheryl

Hi Sheryl,

Yes, little tidbits of prior chats show up on the screen when you first enter the chatroom. Probably so we can get an idea of prior activity. You can hit the icon for "clear screen" to get rid of it.

You can open up the chat in another window by right-clicking on the Chat link and selecting "open in new tab" or "open in new window". Then you can go back and forth between forum messages and chat.

The system automatically logs all chats, so try to always remember this is not a private chatroom, even though it may certainly seem like a private chat between just a few people. And who knows what might be taken out of context and used on that main page where it indicates prior chats. I shudder to think how it might quote me out of context, as I am always horsing around!

You can also spin off into your own chat room by hitting the "plus sign" button, so many people can have their own chatrooms at the same time.
