Hey Vee and other House groupies,
Did you see House where they were trying to diagnose the patient with scleroderma? That is the 2nd House episode I've seen where they have mentioned sclero.

No! I would have liked to have seen that one. I don't watch it regularly. I emailed the producers of Grey's Anatomy last year and told them they should use sclero in a story line. But they don't take advice!

How did the episode go?

Thanks for mentioning it Tange.

Love,
B

Tangie,
I was wondering when they'd use Scleroderma... after all it's a huge mystery. Maybe House knows how to cure us. J/k

I remember one episode where he said, "It's never lupus." My husband is always surprised when I sit watching these shows naming diseases from the symptoms or telling what a blood test is for.
Warm wishes,

There's another show on called Medical Mysteries. They take real people's stories and present them as myteries and the audience is supposed to guess the diagnosis. They even give you mulitple choice answers. It's interesting, educational and kinda fun.

Hey TAng,

Yes, they did mention that one of the diagnosis's might be sclero. The patient, I believe had MS, and he was choking and couldn't swallow. That's what led them to do sclero testing and a skin biopsy. But he didn't have it.

My favorite show!

Oh Janey,

I just posted on the regular board. I didn't see this first. I saw Mystery Diagnosis last night, and thought they were going to diagnosis her with sclero, it was that similar.
I'm glad I caught it, because I just now saw your post. It was very interesting. Good thing I'm a TV junky, or I would have missed it! The other woman was also very interesting, B-12 dificiency. I've had that bowel trouble for years. I used to get anxiety attacks when I would go out to eat, or if we got in the car and was headed for the freeway. I totally understood her fear of going out in public. When she went out to lunch with her friends and spent all the time in the bathroom, totally reminded me of one of my holiday brunches one year. I must have been in and out of the bathroom at least 7 or 8 times that day, and was afraid to get in my car and go home, for fear I wouldn't make it. My kids and hubby and I joke about it alot, but it is a real fear. I hate to say it, but since they put me a prescription for my pain, I've been pretty "regular" but I also know that it can cause severe constipation, so I have to be very careful on how much I take.

Now for Tuesday night! House, here I come!

I did a little House research. I think the episode is 97 Seconds, from Season 4, Episode 3. I remember last season when the show mentioned Scleroderma too. Weird. I wonder if someone related to the show has a special interest in it.

Hope you get to see it. I have not watched many House episodes but every time I do, I really like it. I LOVE Mystery Diagnosis. Sadly, I too know what they are talking about on all these medical shows.

xo,
Tangies

I love House as well , can't wait for the new series to show here in the UK. Has actually just got me thinking which TV doctor would I choose to diagnose and treat me? I think House would be my number one , clever with sex appeal is always a good combination, shame about the bedside manner though. Always rather liked Dr Green , Dr Carter in ER as well, but think Dr Ellis( George Clooney) although great to look at would be too easily distracted by some pretty nurse! Don't think I would trust any of the lot from Grays Anatomy - always too many personal crises going on (looking forward to watching 2 hour special tonight though!). Well must get back to work, am working at home today as on two weeks unpaid study leave, so time is money!

It's a toss up for me .. House or McDreamy ... Hmm... maybe they could TEAM UP together  ?!?! I really enjoy the med shows. When I was little my mom always had the soaps on and back then (way back then) they were all about hospitals and all of the steamy stuff that goes on there!!! So I guess I was indoctrinated at a young age
Soft hugs your way,

my symapthies Vee . its oh so frustrating when that happens. Happens all the time here in the UK at the moment because of football ( which I enjoy but not as much as House) - England are playing world cup qualifiers. Was in hospital last week and decided I would wander down to the day room to watch TV programme I liked, this required some effort as had IV so had to reposition chairs (with one arm) so could put the drip stand near an electric socket to plug the pump in, then found had forgotten the lead so had to trail back to my bed, Eventually got plugged in and untangled myself, picked up remote and found it didn't work so had to unplug myself again to go and switch TV on, eventually got comfy only to find that the programme wasn't being shown that night (and wasn't even sports event to blame for it).

Hi everyone,
You can go to the website and watch the full episode. It says 97 seconds, but when you click on the episode the full one is there to watch. This is the episode from the 9th of October.

I know all of you House addicts watched it last night, so this is no news to you. For those of you who missed it, once again - scleroderma was "mentioned" as a possible diagnosis for the featured patient. I wouldn't have caught it 3 weeks ago, because I never watched it. Thanks to all of YOU - I'm now addicted!

Hope everyone has a marvelous day!
Janey
