I have this rough spot on my finger and it could not be a callous by any stretch of the imagination...LOL. It is small and looks like a crater kind of. It doesn't have much feeling and not tender at all. Any one know what this could be if it is even sclero related?
THanks,
Jen

Hi Jennifer,
hmmmm... Kind of strange. Any ulcer would be painful, maybe a calcium deposit or something? Just guessing here. Let's see what everyone else has to say....
Hugs,
Lisa

Hi Jen,
Sorry to hear about your finger. It could be the starting of an ulcer, they don't always have to be painful.
Check this link out and is if it is helpful.

I haven't had any ulcers yet *knock on wood* so I can't give you any first hand knowledge, but I know someone else out here will be sure to chime in.

the calcinosis on my finger tips look like a dry skin, callous build up. I guess the difference is the calcinosis peels off.

Could it be digital pitting?

Wow I looked around and maybe it is a digital pitting. It's small, but there's a dent like pin head thing in the center of it...with a callous all around it. It's on the outer index finger. I have a lot of lung involvement and Raynaud's so it fits the bill. It is not painful so I guess I just need to keep it clean...any thing else I should do with it? I will share with dr. in march.

HI Jenn,
You might also want to take a pic of it for your dr. In the past I have had things on my fingers but by the time I get to the dr they have disappeared! At least if you have a pic they can still look at.
Hugs,
Lisa
PS Let us know what they say.

Hello Jenn,
I had to go back and find this thread! I remembered your discription of your finger "thing" and I have the very same thing!
It is the middle finger and started out as a painless odd shaped bump under the skin and now has that pin head size depression in the center. I also have splits at the corner of my nails that are so very painful...but these are not the same.
Did you ever find out what it was? If so, I am very curious as to what the painful splits are and the strange painless bump under the skin.
thanks~

Hi Jen,
I had one of those on my left index finger for years, then it disappeared. There's one on the outer palm of my left hand right between the thumb and index finger, which came up about a year and a half ago, and it has a weird thing in the center too. It's like a pitted callous with a sliver of calloused skin coming up through the center, but it doesn't hurt (until I pulled the sliver out one day--ow). At least the ones I've had haven't gotten any worse with time, and I hope that yours simply disappear like mine do.
Best wishes to you,
Elehos
