Hello everyone, I just want to let know that I had my interview yesterday at the Social Security Administration. The woman who interviewed me was very efficient, understanding and pleasant. She really made me feel so in ease during the entire interview. She did not take any medical records or doctors’ letter; she said the disability determination services will contact my doctors if they need any documents. Now, I just have to hope it won’t be too long before all this is over.

Thank you so much to you all for your thoughtful advises to me.

Much love, Alice

Hi Alice,

Congratulations on getting through your initial interview! I am sure they will contact you for all sorts of information. What matters though is that you got the process started. Mucho kudos!

Especial thanks to Shelley Ensz, I will never forgot how nice and kind you were in helping registered on this web-site. Before I become a member I was lost between been very ill and applying for disability benefit. I didn’t know anything about the process, because of your help and support; I was well prepared for my interview that my claims’ representative was so impressed.

I am grateful to you all for your support and kindness.

Alice,

I am glad your interview went well. I will keep you in my thoughts and I really hope it goes through for you. I was lucky enough to apply and have the phone interview one month later and approved right away. I know with Sclero diagnosis it should go through pretty easily, but yet there are so many that are struggling. Good luck to you.

Warm hugs,

Peggy

Hi Peggy:

Still waiting for my answer from December. They called me two weeks ago requesting the amputating doctor's number for additional questions, but as yet, have not heard. If they deny me, I'll just appeal with my latest hospital stay and will probably get a positive reply. Still a shame, that we have to do it a second time.

Hi Alice,

I had my interview May 27th. The gentleman (probably 30 years younger than I am...just a baby) was very nice. He gave me a lot of information about what to expect. He said it would take anywhere from 3 to 5 months before I hear anything. Tuesday I got some more paper work to fill out. They're wanting to know what my day is like from the time I get up until I go to bed. How my illnesses affect the way I do things. What I use to be able to do that I can't do now. What kind of socializing and how often. It was kind of depressing :( . I sure don't get around much anymore (that's the name of a song isn't it??).

Ah well. Now I"ll just hide and watch.

Wishing us all good luck,

Christy
