Janey,
My GI doctor was actually nice today. He said that he has me at the max for acid reflux medicine. He thinks that perhaps my esophageal yeast infection is back. He put me on medication for yeast for 10 days. If it is no better after 10 days I am supposed to call him and he will do an endoscopy. My last one was done last February.

Hi Nan,
I sure do hope that you feel better real fast. I was wondering what you take for the acid reflux and how much you take.

Hugs,
Patty

Nan,
Thanks for the update. I hope the meds do the job on the yeast infection. I know it's frustrating to have to take another medication, but at least this one is for only 10 days. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Ditto on Patty's question - what reflux med are you taking?

Hi Nan,

I too sure hope the new med for the yeast infection works for you. Something to think about is that if your GI doctor says he has you on the max doseage for the acid reflux med, maybe you need to try a different reflux med. They do not ALL work the same on ALL people.....for example, prevacid, nexium, and prilosec did NOT work for me and gave me horrible headaches BUT Aciphex is working great. Just something to think about and maybe discuss with your GI doctor.

Do keep us posted on how you are feeling and if the new med is working!

Warm wishes,
Heidi

Thanks for all of your responses. I have taken Nexium, Propulsid, and Aciphex before. Currently I am on 40mg. Protonix in the a.m., Ranatidine- 150mg. twice a day as needed, and 20mg. Prilosec in the p.m.
