Has anyone had flu like pains (growing pains) in the arms that won't go away?.
For the last 24 hours I had pain goiing from both shoulders down the arm going towards the wrist on both arms. It is driving me crazy  .

I have taken pain killers which has done nothing, being in a fairly hot shower has helped some, but when I come out it is there again.

Many thanks
Celia

Sorry Celia

Would a heat pack on the shoulders or base of the neck (if that's where the pain is raidiating from) help along with a deep heat menthol rub?

I hope you get some relief.

I like the title of your topic "Pains anyone?" No thanks I've got enough of my own!

Hey Celia,
I get this body wide feeling often when I have overdone things, or just for whatever reason. I so happen to be having one of those days today. I feel like I have a low grade fever and I'm achy all over. What normally helps me is to rest and keep warm and normally the next day I will feel better.

I hope you feel better tomorrow.
Warm and gentle hugs,

Hi Celia,

It could be....!

I had pains in my arms, coming from my neck and it stayed with me for 2 1/2-3 weeks.
I thought it might be a virus too, but because I also have Fibromyalgia...it could well have been a flare.

Whatever it was, I'm really relieved the pain has let up because...like you...it wasn't pleasant

I hope the pain for you, lets up soon too!

Soft Hugs,
Susie

Thanks everyone for replying to my post.

Susie, I also suffer from fibromyalgia, is this one of the symptoms?.
I have researched Scleroderma but I have to admit I haven't on Fibromyalgia.

Many thanks to all
Celia

Celia I sometimes get these sorts of pains but just put it down to the Fybromyalgia which I also have and not the SSc, but sometimes I wonder if it is to do with nerve pain.

Ced

My muscles ache too at times...and sometimes, like you, just plain sore....I put mine to my Fibromyalgia as well. Not sure how to describe mine, it's like tired achy arms, arms feel heavy to move...my fibro definitely radiates down my neck and back/shoulders, etc too.
Sending good wishes your way!

Celia,

I too have pains in my arms and it sometimes feels like the pain is in my bones. I also have tiredness in my arms, shoulders and neck that can also hurt and ache on their own or sometimes I only feel pain if I happen to touch myself or am touched in those areas.

I hope you find some relief soon.
I may have Scleroderma, but Scleroderma doesn't have me!

Hi Celia,

Yes, in answer to your question about this possibly being one of the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.

Also, as Sweet mentioned, if you happened to do some extreme exercise that may have caused the pain, that also would affect you for longer, since you have Fibro.

If you can do a tub soak in warm water...for sure, thatwouldn't hurt.

Hope you feel better shortly :D

Susie, My son and I did go for a 40 minute walk to the shops to buy some milk, I then had to carry 4 litres of milk home. I thought I could do with the exercise, but obviously I over did it. When I got home I noticed the pains in my arms.

Best wishes to all and I hope you are pain free

Celia

Sorry, I forgot to ask, I have a lot of stiffness in bothe achilles tendons and also the lower back going towards the sides. Is Scleroderma or Fibromyalgia the cause of stiffness?

Thanks
Celia

I have been having tons of pain in my arms at night when I am trying to sleep. It drives me crazy. It feels like the bones are hurting. I too have fibro, so maybe it is it.

Wow, do we all have fibromyalgia in addition to sclero? I wonder what the percentage is? Jude?

Celia, it sounds like carrying the milk in addition to walking could very well have caused a flare. There are wonderful wraps that cover your upper back, shoulders and neck and heat up in the microwave. Sounds like you could use that! In the mean time try some warm rubs or those stick on arthritis patches that self heat. Good luck sweetie, that sounds so painful. Try to take it slow and let someone else carry the milk next time!
Peace,
