I went to the Dr's yesterday and saw a intern along with my reg rhummy. Not much to report other then they increased my steroids from 10 to 20 mg a day.
My reg Dr asked me how I was feeling and what sxs I had. I told her that I had the EMG and it showed my muscles were OK. She said she didn't care what that test said, she wanted to know how I felt. I loved that fact that she didn't go by the test results saying I'm OK, but she listened to me and how I felt. It was a great feeling to know shes not a black and white Dr! I wish all Dr's could be like that!
I have to go back in 7 weeks and hope to start my taper back down to 10 then if my inflammation is better.

Hugs,
Patty

Hi Patty,

Wow! That is great! I am so glad you have found a doctor who really listens to you and who doesn't over-emphasize the "tests". Is the increase in prednisone because of all the pain you have been in? I sure hope it brings you some relief!

Warm wishes,
Heidi

Oh sorry. The increase is for both pain and my skin being inflamed. The dermatomyosoitis is acting up and my skin looks so bad along with more grottons what ever on my knees now,and my legs hurt so they thought best to double the prednisone to see how that works. Looks like I am going to buy new outfits here soon LOL.

Patty

Patty,
I hope your doctor's treatment continues as is for a long time. Symtpoms are so much more important to US than any test results. Sorry the pain is continuing. I really hope the prednisone increase does the trick for you.

Have a wonderful New Year yourself!

Big Hugs,
Janey

Hi Patty,

Wow, wish your doctor would give classes to some of the others! What a great approach. Sorry you had to have an increase in your meds though.

Hang in there my friend.
Warm and gentle hugs,
