Leonidas,
Welcome to the ISN forums. I'm so sorry the read that your mother is suffering from scleroderma. You certainly have come to the right place for information. We do have a Spanish section on Scleroderma. Please click below to access it.

Acerca de la Esclerodermia: Introducción.

I hope this provides you both with lots of information. In addition, please post specific questions to the forum and we'll try our best to answer them or at least guide to a source. You've come to the right place for information and support.

Again, welcome.

Big hugs to you and your mother,

Hello Amanda,

As well with the hope that the good will to my mother would have been diagnosed with the disease 3 months and make sure it is in our interest to know that you can do to control the disease and in your experience tells me that you had to change. Maybe we can share information such as where my mother did the review of anti SCL-70 it won 1.3 and typically 0.9 and you have reset certain drugs such as methotrexate 2.5 mg tablets she takes 6 to see 1 week.

Apart from that my mom is diabetic and this adds that she is suffering from arthritis is a young woman 48 years has operated as was a year and you extrageron the matrix and ovaries as to give you an idea and we are in contact cuidate,

Hi I would like to know whether there was any specific treatment that helps with diffuse scleroderma?

My mother is a lady of 48 years. She is starting to suffer from diabetes and arthritis and 3 months ago they said she has diffuse scleroderma. She is prescribed methotrexate 2.5 mg takes 6 pills a week.

Hello, Leonidas

I have merged your two threads for your convenience as they are addressing the same issues. First of all, let me welcome you to the ISN Sclero Forums and hope you can find some help.

Shelley gave you a link for our page with information on Diffuse Scleroderma.

Janey has also included a link to our information in Spanish: Acerca de la Esclerodermia: Introducción.

I assume that your mother is under the care of a rheumatologist since she is taking methotrexate. There is no specific treatment for diffuse scleroderma, though she should be under the care of a rheumatologist or even better, a scleroderma specialist. The important thing is for her to be monitored for various problems and the symptoms treated as they arise. What kinds of tests has she already received? Of course her diabetes will need to be kept under control. I presume the methotrexate is given for her arthritis - is it rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disease like scleroderma)? I hope this has been helpful to you.
Warm wishes,
Jefa

Welcome Leonidas,

Sorry your mother has scleroderma. There is an article on coping with scleroderma that may help you too. It would be on the medical page. Maybe someone would be able to help you find that link. Sorry I don't know how to get you the specific link.

I have been taking methotrexate for a long time. It suppresses the immune system and works on the skin problems and inflamatory problems people get with scleroderma. Keep us posted and will try to help you and your mom walk through this as will others.

With gentle thoughts.

Judy

Hi Leonidas,

I'm sorry your mother has scleroderma, and just want to say 'Hi." I'm no expert, but do know that methotrexate is often used in scleroderma treatment. There's lots of medical information on the site that you can browse through, and also I'm sure you'll be hearing very soon from other people in the forum.

Take care,

warmheart
