I have just been told that I have come up positive with antibodies for Hep c. Anyone else have this? I am being retested for it to be sure but I am not sure on how I got this I understand that it can lay dormant for up to 30 years and can be contacted by tattoos and blood transfusions. I have had both these about over 27 years ago so am unsure how I may have got this.

Lynn,

Hope your repeat test for hep c comes back negative. I don't have hep c but I'm sure you are worried. Will keep you in my thoughts and wish you well.

With gentle thoughts,

Judy

Hi, Lynn

I know you were worried about this test, which you had as part of a whole panel of liver tests, and I do hope the second one comes back negative.

Here is a link to our medical page on Liver and Spleen Involvement which has a section on Hepatitis C and also several patient stories which you might find interesting. I will be thinking of you while you wait and wish you luck with all of your challenges.
Warm wishes,
Jefa

Hi Lyndlou

I have no answers either but I wish you well and also hope the second tests proves it negative for you! Good luck.
Sending good wishes your way!
