Regarding brain fog:

You know it's bad when....

You call your daughter (Noelle) by the kitty's name (Topsie), and you call the kitty by your daughter's name, and you finally give up and call them both "Honey."

Janet-

I am lucky... here in the South we can get away with just calling everyone "Hon", so when in doubt, pull the Southern Belle out. :)

I wish I could get away with that at work! :(

Part of my job is to remember faces and use names. I'm doomed. Might as well apply for disability right now.

I made the horrible mistake of naming the 2 boys with very similar names and then repeated it with the 2 girls! Not much chance of me getting it right, so everybody gets 'Lovey' which does work, but the kids are complaining I talk to the dogs in exactly the same tone of voice, using complete sentences, and calling all of them Lovey too! They say it is very confusing to them - who is supposed to do the dishes, etc.? Hmmm, must be one of the 4-legged Loveys~ They're also complaining that I sometimes tell one of them to "Sit!" or "Stay!" I said on those instances, I am NOT confused about who I'm talking to!

Janet, I've done the same thing . Called my daughter the dogs name, only trouble is that the dog is a MALE! Daughter did not appreciate that!

Oh Janet, Penny, Jeannie, barefut and Jefa

HOW I can relate!

Maybe that's why George Foreman named all of his boys "George"! ;)

All of the above are so funny, Hon! (Southern Belle charm coming out) :)

Yesterday, I said, “I love you, Honey.” I hear my daughter from the next room, “Are you talking to me??” Long pause…((disgusted sigh)) Then, “I know…Topsie.”

haha I read this post and thought I was the only person to do this . :)

I have 5 kids and they ll get the wrong names, that's if I can remember at all. ;) I say to my granddaught good boy but then she'll look at me and say I'm a girl, nana. So I always reply with, well I know that but I'm just seeing if you do. She laughs, so that gets me out of that one. hahaha

My mum used to do the same, she had 5 kids too. We used to wear name badges when visiting her. hahah She found that funny.

Well, thought I'd share this with you and sorry if I have bored you.

Oh Jaxs, I started this morning falling about laughing when I read the bit about wearing name tags when you visited your mum. My kids did that to me once, only they swapped the tags around.

My husband says when the grandkids come to visit, we'll have to put numbers/colors on them like a football strip so I'll know who is who. Good thing we only have one so far!

Thanks for sharing and the good laugh!
