Hey folks,
Fox was taping an episode of Kitchen Nightmares in Philly and we got to eat in the restaurant while they were filming! I am a huge, HUGE Gordon Ramsay fan so it was such bliss for me to get to see My Hero in person, and to be part of the taping was fun - even if it's hard to carry on a normal meal and conversation with a boom mike and cameras in your face.
It will air in the fall with the new season, I'll keep everyone informed of when, so you can ooooh and aaaah at my 2 minutes of fame.
Love, Mary in Philly

LOL, glad to see more Gordon fans! We were there for the big 'reveal' and the food was very good. The place was called the Hot Potato, and they took the potato theme and ran with it, the decor was so cute, sweet potato plants on the tables, and they gave little kids potatos in jars to sprout themselves. Potatoes of all kinds were on the menu too, and they even had a really delicious sweet potato cheesecake. yum.

The poor ladies (there were two sisters and a sister in law) who owned the place all looked like they'd been smacked in the heads with frying pans. They didn't know which way was up by the time we got there, they said it had been such a whirlwind with them filming there all week long.

Our local news interviewed me, if you want to see the link you can PM me and I'll send it to you. It's only a few seconds and all I say is that I love Gordon and Kitchen Nightmares, how lame. What a hoot.

They said he wasn't too bad but they were terrified of him!

Anyhow it was fun, thanks for sharing in it with me.

Jeannie's another Gordon fan! yay!
Next time I go I'll ask if they'll share the recipe, but perhaps not! The sweet potato taste was very subtle but sooo delicious. I do hope they make it, they were a nice bunch of people and were working so hard.
It's so interesting. I forgot to mention we got to spend some time talking to his sous chef Scott (he's the bald guy... I felt terrible, that's what everyone was saying : 'look, there's the bald guy!')
I suppose he gets that a lot, lol
Cheers!

:D BBC and the language doesn't faze me at all! Every time my hubby hears that sort of thing, he calls it 'kitchen language.'

I've got Gordon's dessert cookery book - the pictures all have damp spots from me drooling over them!

Could you taste any spice in the sweet potato cheesecake? Maybe we could reverse engineer it. I'd sure be willing to give it a try.

I hope the folks at the restaurant make it too - they sound really nice with the potatoes for the kids to sprout and all.

Big hugs to you!

Mary, how great! That is terrific!

Now we just have to get you a Sclero.org t-shirt to wear during your next restaurant excursions. Okay a t-shirt could look lame in a fancy place but it's the thought that counts. :)

I'm thrilled for you and hope you get it taped if your clip shows up on it!

So Shelley, how do we get a Scleroderma T-Shirt with our LOGO? I looked in our store and didn't see any T-Shirts for sale. I want to order one when an order goes in. I bet many in the forums would like one. Great advertisement also.
