Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has had these symptoms ,my stomach is SO bloated from under my breast to my pelvic area and so very uncomfortable. Its very hard to the touch and sometimes I get sharp pains on the left side near my pelvic. Also I feel like something is stuck in my throat and hard to swallow some foods.I did see a Gastrologist and he's having me take 2 test COLONOSCOPY and ENDOSCOPY next monday.
So I'm asking what the outcome was if you have these symptoms IBM or what could it be.

Thanks,
Mary[b]

Hi Mary,

I get bloating from time to time. With me it's usually overdoing foods that I'm not real tolerant of anymore and/or I've neglected to take my motility medication.

Sounds like your doctor is doing the right tests. Hopefully you'll get some answers and relief soon. It's no fun, eh?

Thanks for responding,

You know I won't be so concern if it was once in awhile but my stomach has been extended for over 8 months now 24/7.I thought you know this is not normal I better get this checked out and thats when I saw my primary Dr. and he referred me to the Gastric Dr.I just can't wait for the test to see whats going on.
But I'm hoping if this is going on with someone else you'll be able to tell me your symptoms and diagnosis's.
What is WATERMELON STOMACH?Because I have a picture of my stomach from another test and it has white spots all over it.That was from 2008.Weird looking

Thanks again,
Mary

Hi Mary,

My GI said mine is due to dysmotility due to the scleroderma. I had the colonoscopy and several endoscopies. The motility medication he prescribed helps a lot, but even with it I still get bloating. A small part of my problem is that I had a full fundoplication for reflux and since I can no longer burp, all the normal gas builds up in the stomach and intestines until it 'vents' out the bottom of the system. :D I'd say mine occurs a couple of times a week and lasts 6-8 hours - absolutely nothing compared to what you are going through.

Watermelon stomach is also known as Gastric Antral Vascular Ectasia (GAVE) and it is my understanding that it looks like stripes rather than spots, but I'm sure no doctor. There is a photo you could compare yours to here.

Pretty frustrating, isn't it? ;)
