Hi everyone. It has been a while since I posted regarding my kidney transplant. I just found out yesterday that my donor was not approved because her kidneys are functioning at 50% instead of the needed 80%. Needless to say I am dissapointed. So it is back to square one, except I am now on two lists for kidneys, one in NJ and one in FL so hopefully something will come up.

I had to have surgery this week to replace my catheter as it is infected. The worst part was getting stuck to get the IV in. It took4 tries and finally they used an infant's needle. I know many of you have the same problem with finding veins so I thought I'd pass it along.

Hi,

I am so sorry to hear that the donor was not approved. How frustrating and disappointing. I am glad to hear that you are on two different lists now. I sure hope one comes available soon! And, yikes, I am sorry your catheter got infected. I sure hope you are feeling better after that ordeal! You are in my thoughts.

Warm wishes,
Heidi

Hello miocean,

It is nice to see you post. I'm really sorry that the transplant was unable to take place at this time. Hopefully being on two lists will speed up the process. I know this must be very disappointing to you.

Hang in there and know we care.

Hi miocean,

I'd been wondering just recently how you were getting on with the transplant. How disappointing for you to have that happen, when you were all psyched up to have the transplant too!

I'm sorry that you had to have the catheter replaced also. Being on dialysis myself I can sympathize. I hope that you can find another donor very soon!

Warm hugs,
