Sheryl Doom

Welcome, my name is Sheryl Doom. I am starting out as a Sclero Forums Chat Host. I hope I will be valuable in other ways in the future. I am fifty-five years of age. I have been married to my wonderful husband for thirty-nine years. I was a stay at home mom for twenty years.

Though I have my cosmetology license, I never worked in a salon. I was trained as a lab technician and worked for an independent pharmacy for over ten years. My husband and I retired and moved out into the country and together we and a few friends built our dream home.

I have Limited Systemic Sclerosis with Crest. It took many years before I was finally diagnosed with this disease. I have several autoimmune diseases and have had many surgeries over the years so it is hard to say what disease finally triggered my scleroderma into full staying power.

In 2004 I was officially diagnosed with Scleroderma. I feel as though I have had this disease since childhood. My symptoms as of 2008 are rather mild in comparison to previous years. I still suffer with arthritis, gastrointestinal problems, acid reflux, trigeminal neuralgia, and sleep apnea. My email address is sheryl-doom@sclero.org.
