I hope to be able to offer support and encouragement to other sufferers of this rather bizarre disease!

Jo Frowde with 3 dogsHello, I'm Jo Frowde and I am ISN Sclero Forums Manager. I am from the United Kingdom and feel very privileged and excited to be part of the International Scleroderma Network.

I enjoy contact with lots of different people and have worked for the Civil Service and also gave horse riding lessons for many years. I still ride and my main interests are horses, dogs and going to the gym where I try to keep fit!

I was diagnosed with Limited Systemic Scleroderma in July 2009. I had been feeling very unwell for probably eighteen months before that with my joints being painful and having bi-lateral carpal tunnel syndrome and a general feeling of fatigue and lethargy.

It was in January 2009 that I noticed the classic symptoms of a dry cough and increasing breathlessness and visited my general practitioner who thankfully realized that it was not a run of the mill chest infection. Eventually I was referred to The Royal Brompton Hospital in London where I underwent six months treatment which improved my lung function.

I have been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis (fibrosing organising pneumonia),inflammatory arthritis, Raynaud's and have tested positive with the Anti-PM/Scl antibody. Once diagnosed my first feeling was relief as at least I had a reason that I had been feeling so poorly and I have found a wealth of knowledge, comfort and support from the Sclero Forums which I joined in August 2009.

In December 2010, I began training as an ISN Sclero Forums Chat Host. I will be filling in as needed for other chat hosts, when they need to take time off for any reason. Right now the ISN hosts chats four times a week in an effort to provide global, personal support for people who are interested in scleroderma and related illnesses, such as Raynaud's and pulmonary hypertension.

I enjoy the ISN so much that in June 2011, I began training as an ISN Assistant News Guide. I will be posting items from the ISN newsroom to Sclero Forums and hope to expand my involvement from there.

In July 2011, I completed training to become an ISN Sclero Forums Assistant Manager, where I provide behind-the-scenes assistance reviewing and approving pending memberships and other things necessary to keep our forums running smoothly.

In September 2011, I became ISN Sclero Forums Manager. I cherish this opportunity to be of service to our stellar forum staff and members.

In January 2013, I completed training to become promoted from ISN Assistant News Guide to ISN News Guide. With this additional position, I will be researching, selecting, and preparing current medical abstracts for our Newsroom and web site.

In January 2015, I completed the training to become promoted to ISN Assistant Webmaster. In this position, I will be developing and coding new content for the sclero.org web site.

In November 2015, I became an ISN Hotline Support Specialist, where I will be answering inquiries and emails on the hotline.

In 2016 I became SD World Webmaster and I restored the coding on this site to current standards.

My email address is [email protected].
