Title
Sclero Forums Support Specialist (English)
Status
Open positions, currently soliciting applications. We are especially seeking coverage for all world time zones. We will be adding several new support specialists over the next few months.
Position Summary

To serve on the International Scleroderma Network's Sclero Forum's team of Support Specialists. Approve, edit and reply to Sclero Forum messages in a reliable and thoughtful manner. This position is vital for helping to provide quality scleroderma support and information for those affected by scleroderma throughout the world.

Position Type
Virtual Volunteer. Candidate would work entirely from their own home via computer. Therefore they must have their own computer with Internet access.
Time Commitment
Approximately 10 to 20 hours per week on a regular basis, hours and schedule to be determined by volunteer and coordinated with manager.
Position Reports To
ISN Manager of Sclero Forums.
Language Requirements
Candidate must be able to read and write English.
International Scleroderma Network (ISN)

The International Scleroderma Network (ISN) is an international nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency founded in Minnesota. We provide healthcare information and support via our 2,000+ page SCLERO.ORG website in 22 languages. We publish the Voices of Scleroderma book series, and we support international research efforts for scleroderma.

Scleroderma is a rare arthritis/autoimmune disease that is popularly known as the "disease that turns people to stone" because it causes a hardening of the skin, blood vessels and/or internal organs.

Essential Functions
1. Serves as a Moderator in responding to the ISN Sclero Forums member messages, approving, editing or declining new messages.
2. Ensures that the ISN Sclero Forum policies and procedures are being followed.
3. Researches medical information on the ISN website to provide members with the most up-to-date support and medically approved information.
4. Assists in training new ISN Support Specialists and provides ongoing support to all members on the team.
5. Reports all forum problems to the Senior Support Specialist or Manager and provides assistance in problem solving various situations encountered on the message board or within its membership.
6. Informs the Sclero Forums Manager and Senior Support Specialist in advance when additional coverage is needed for scheduling changes
General Requirements
1. Disciplined and committed to timely and thoughtful responses to ISN's Sclero Forums online members.
2. Problem solve sensitive issues and handle them with the highest level of confidentiality.
3. Provide caring and knowledgeable support to all members who post messages.
4. Must know a great deal about scleroderma and related autoimmune symptoms, and medical/pharmacological terms for best support.
5. Must have own computer with email and Internet access.
