| Effect of Sildenafil on digital ulcers in systemic sclerosis – analysis from a single centre pilot study. This study indicates an effect of sildenafil on DU healing in SSc patients, improvement of RP and associated symptoms that should be validated in controlled studies. Claudia S. Brueckner. Ann Rheum Dis. 8 November 2009. (Also see: Digital Ulcers Treatments) | |
| Telangiectases in Scleroderma: A Potential Clinical Marker of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). Increased numbers of telangiectases strongly associate with the presence of pulmonary vascular disease. Telangiectases may be a clinical marker of more widespread aberrant microvascular disease in scleroderma. Shah AA. J Rheumatol. 2009 Dec 1. (Also see: Telangiectasia and PAH) | (Al|

| TNF Inhibitors Do Not Raise Cancer Risk. Data on the first 6 years of anti-TNF therapy in routine care of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients show no increase in cancer risk, and this safety level was maintained throughout continued follow-upt. Janis C. Kelly. MSK Report November 12, 2009. (Also see: TNF Inhibitors) | |
| Follow-up results of 702 patients receiving tumor necrosis factor-alpha antagonists and evaluation of risk of tuberculosis (TB). The risk of development of active TB is increased in this group of patients despite chemoprophylaxis, but this risk remains within the acceptable limits even in a moderate-tuberculosis incidence country, if proper chemoprophylaxis regimen is adhered. Tulin Cagatay. Rheumatology International. October 21, 2009. (Also see: TNF Inhibitors) | |
| Rapamycin versus methotrexate in early diffuse systemic sclerosis: Results from a randomized, single-blind pilot study. Rapamycin has a reasonable safety profile in a select group of patients with scleroderma. Larger trials are needed to assess the efficacy of rapamycin in patients with early diffuse SSc. Su TI. (PubMed) Arthritis Rheum. 2009 Nov 30;60(12):3821-3830. (Also see: Scleroderma Treatments) |
