Telangiectases in Scleroderma: A Potential Clinical Marker of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). Increased numbers of telangiectases strongly associate with the presence of pulmonary vascular disease. Follow-up results of 702 patients receiving tumor necrosis factor-alpha antagonists and evaluation of risk of tuberculosis (TB). The risk of development of active TB is increased in this group of patients despite chemoprophylaxis, but this risk remains within the acceptable limits even in a moderate-tuberculosis incidence country, if proper chemoprophylaxis regimen is adhered. Rapamycin versus methotrexate in early diffuse systemic sclerosis: Results from a randomized, single-blind pilot study. Rapamycin has a reasonable safety profile in a select group of patients with scleroderma. Larger trials are needed to assess the efficacy of rapamycin in patients with early diffuse SSc. Su TI.
