| Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) is also known as Hughes Syndrome. Symptoms include deep vein thrombosis (DVT), chronic leg ulcers, recurrent miscarriages, headache, heart attacks, renal vein and artery thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and pulmonary hypertension. The Stockholm Challenge rewards projects that through inspirational approaches benefit people, society and the environment in their local context. An international jury, consisting of senior experts from all corners of the globe will start evaluating all projects in the beginning of November, 2003.
