  1. ASHU, What do you mean it could be part of a disease? Also, regarding your daughter does she ever have throat or chest pain? I never have pain, just feel like cool liquid is stuck in my throat. Thanks! Jessica
  2. Hi, about 2 years ago I tested positive for Scleroderma. Although, my numbers were very low several doctors all said that I do not have scleroderma. My only symptom has been joint pain. I have been taking hydroxychloroquine for 1.5 years. Just last week I had this feeling in the back of my throat like food could come up. It doesn't burn, I have no funny taste, it just feels like cool liquid almost. Could this be acid reflux? Could it mean I may have scleroderma? Can hydroxychloroquine cause acid reflux? Thank you for your responses! I'm freaking out! I go to the doctor on Thursday.
  3. Wow, that is awesome news! I can't believe you can test positive for scl-70 and then negative the next. That is really amazing. Did the doctors explain how that could be going from positive to negative?
  4. Thanks for all of your responses but after thinking about it I'm almost positive it is from leaning on my elbow. It's only in my left hand and that is the elbow I lean on. I noticed I am always leaning on it...at work, at home, even when I'm sleeping it's always bent and I'm laying on it. I was noticed when I went to the Norah Jones show the other night I even found a way to lean on it. Now that I noticed I do that all the time I am trying to focus on keeping it straight and I haven't had any tingling since then. I think I just freak out with every symptom!
  5. That is intersted Kiwi b/c it starts when I lean on my elbow. I wondering if I have somehow injured that nerve or maybe when I lean on my elbow it puts pressure on the nerve.
  6. I tested positive for SCL-70 and on the ANA but was told I don't have scleroderma. Instead I was diagnosed with Palindromic Rheumatism.
  7. Any idea what it means? I guess it could be carpal tunnel. I only get it at work which I set at a computer all day.
  8. So, I have a tingling feeling in my left pinky finger. Does this mean anything? The skin color isn't changing at all. Who knows it could just be in my head. For some reason I only notice it at work. Maybe it has something to do with typing.
  9. I agree with everyone else and that you should get a second opinion. Here my symptoms aren't bad at all and I'm getting 3 opinions. I'm only getting the thrid b/c I have great health insurance and I just want to make sure all three doctors agree. Also, I'm a financial consultant and I saw you mentioned life insurance. If I were you and if you are thinking about purchasing it I would definitely get it now while you are healthy! If you develope something along the way (which we all know your chances are very slim) then try to get it your premiums will be much higher and you may not qualify. It is just something to think about...
  10. So is it important to be in great physical condition or to exercise to make your lungs and heart stronger? If you do this then does it make it that much harder for the disease to take over?
  11. So, I went to see my Rheumatologists this past Monday to go over my results. Which my results are as follows...Scl-70 1.62H, ANA positive, ANA Pattern Homogeneous, Antinuclear Antibodies 1:80H, and my only symptom is random joint pain. My doctor said she has no reason to believe I have Scleroderma. She told me I have palindromic rheumatism. Which PR is a rare type of inflammatory arthritis. It's characterized by recurrent attacks of painful swelling of the joints and surrounding tissues. She said 1/3 of the people who have PR is goes away, the 1/3 the symptoms stay the same, and the other 1/3 it develops into Rheumatoid Arthritis. She also said I have a connective tissue disorder which I'm confused about. She prescribed me hydroxychloroquine which I think is the generic drug for Plaquenil. I am going to get a second opinion just to have peace of mind at the end of May. Even if my doctor is wrong or if my symptoms change it is a good thing that I'm on Plaquenil, right? Also, she said my blood levels weren't high enough to concern her. Does anyone know what my blood levels mean?
  12. That is great news! It gives me hope as well. Hopefully, I will have the same out come when I go to the doctor on Monday! So, I just need to be on the outlook for changes in skin, throat problems, and breathing?
  13. Yes, I am seeing a rheumatologist, however she is on vacation right now. Her office gave me the results which was probably a bad idea since it is causing me to worry. How long did you have joint pain for? I have had it for 2 years now and it has not progressed at all, meaning it has stayed the same. Some months I have it, others I don't. It is really strange b/c I only get joint pain at night and when I wake up in the morning it is gone. I have had a MRI and a bone scan and it doesn't show inflammation or bone or joint damage which is great! Does this mean whatever I have it is progressing slowly? So, I could possible develope other symptoms along the way?
  14. Wow! I appreciate all of your messages. It is helping me feel much better. I do have a doctor but right now she is on vacation. So, her office gave me my results and after researching everything I started to really stress out thinking that I have some really serious. I guess I should wait and see what she says when she gets back on Monday. I am lucky that I don't have any other symptoms! I will keep everyone posted and I really appreciate all your support and messages!!!
  15. Hi, I'm am currently 26 years old and have had random joint pain for the past several years. Last year my doctor ran blood work and everything came back negative. So, just last week I have more blood work and I tested positive on the ANA and Scl-70. So, does this mean I have scleroderma even though my only symptom is joint pain? Is joint the first stage of scleroderma. I'm really worried.
