  1. Thank you so much for that bit of information! I have been wondering what SLE was for the longest time. That really means alot to me!!!!!! Lorie :)
  2. I wish I could talk to someone out there that could give me some insight to what this means. I feel like I am clueless. I am a 45 yr old teacher that was diagnosed about 4 years ago. Since then, my health has gotten worse. I don't know how long I will be able to teach. I have lots of issues like probably so many others out there. Thanks! Lorie
  3. I am sorry that I am responding so late to your posting. I can really relate to the hip and lower back pain. I have tried everything, and I am still battling the pain to this day. It seems like it is all getting worse. So days it feels like you just don't know what to do. I am now trying to work in some PT. I think this is the best strategy. However, it is very difficult when you are in such severe PAIN. I like this topic because I can really relate! I hope you feel better! Lorie
  4. Has anyone had pain so severe in the groin, rear and thighs that they had to take pain killers because injections did not help? Thanks, Lorie
  5. I am having massive pain in my groin mustle. I wonder if this is fibro or problem with my hips. Lorie
  6. I was diagnosed with SLE/mixed connective tissue with a very high ANA score. Recently I had a blood test and my RNP Antibodies was a 102. Does anyone understand this test? My score went from a 38 to a 102 in the last 4 months. I am also having massive pain in my hips and lower back. I am waiting for the results from my x-rays. I am thinking I have arthritis. Sadly, Lorie
  7. I have been getting leg cramps in the calves of my legs. A friend offered me Potassium tablets. I took them and my cramps went away. I called my primary care dr and they just checked my potassium level. It was fine. My dr said to try drinking lots of h2o. I am ready to float away. I still have cramps. I think it is caused from Lyrica. I guess I should call my rheumatologist. So tonight, do I take a pain killer or a Potassuim tablet? Does anyone know? Thanks. I take minnipress (blood pressure medication), Lyrica, Plaquinil, Cybalta, and Acifex
  8. I really appreciate all your encouragement!!! I love this already! And, you are all so knowledgeable. Thank you!!!!!!! I do have a question if anyone can help me. I have been seeing a rheumatologist for 4 years now. My ANA usually runs around 4 or 500. I have (SLE) Raynaud's and Fibermyalgia. Is the future that unpredictable? Will I be able to work along time? I am 44 years old. I inherited this from my father. He was retired in his early 40's, but the drugs were not developed yet. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  9. Hi, just would like to introduce myself. According to my test results, I have SLE or mixed connective tissue disorder. My doctor says that my symptoms resemble scleroderma. I have sooooo many issues, the worst being pain (fibromyalgia). Would like to communicate with others that have simular symptoms.
