  1. Sakar, I was so worried about you that I did a post asking you how your were. I am so sorry for what you have been through. I too have very low blood pressure. I am on protonix and prilosec and they work well for me. The comment your GI made does sound sort of stupid. I think you need to have EGD- scope down the esophagus, colonoscopy, and gastric emptying study done. I am no doctor but that is what has been done on me. Please take care of yourself. A big hug is sent your way! Nan
  2. Jennifer, I have been noticing more lines everywhere on my face. I am much older than you, I will be 50 in March. I also have noticed a lot of dryness in my skin. I have Sjogren's too so I don't know if it's old age, Sjogren's, or Scleroderma. I don't know of any treatments. I was born with a birthmark on my face that started out small and kept growing. By the time they did surgery it pretty much covered one side of my face. I had plastic surgery and the scar is right big. Growing up was quite difficult because people are so cruel. Dermablend helps. Just the other day I was speaking with my mom about what scleroderma can do to your face and she said that won't seem bad to you. I asked her why and she said because you grew up with your scar. I was like oh yeah!, but for some reason I still think it will be bad because the damage scleroderma can do hurts and my scar never hurts. I do firmly believe that it is the beauty on the inside that emanates through our eyes and smiles that makes a person beautiful! I know so many people that I think are beautiful. When other people first see them they might not think so because they only see them. They don't know them. I hope that this makes sense. From your picture I would say that you're beautiful. From your posts I can also say that you're beautiful. At this point in my life I like the inner beauty best because it never changes. Sorry I got off on such a tangent. Please give yourself a break and don't let this bring down your self-esteem. You're an awesome person! Nan P.S. I also had gray hair prematurely. I considered that distinguished. :D I think of my wrinkles as adding character. :D
  3. Welcome! I am so sorry about your diagnosis, but you are in the right place for support! As of now I don't have any lung issues so I can't help you in that department. Take care, Nan
  4. I just had a heart roll five minutes ago or what feels like it. I asked my doctor about it this summer and he didn't seemed concerned. I still think you should ask your doctor. Mine doesn't do it all the time. I go in spurts. Sometimes it feels like my heart drops or even stops at some point. Take Care! Nan

  8. Bless your heart! I just got a definite diagnosis in December. It is mind boggling. I still can't believe it. Focus on those precious grandchildren. I will be turning 50 in March. I am still raising my son. I was a late bloomer. We adopted him at 26 days old 15 years ago this October. He provides great joy! A big hug is headed your way. My husband and family are still devastated. I too find myself comforting them. This forum is a great outlet! Nan
  9. Irene, How are you doing? Has the doctor figured anything out yet? Nan

  16. My health insurance didn't cover it. Nan
  17. That's awesome!!!! I can't take prednisone because of watermelon stomach. About 8 years ago I went to get acupuncture. The first time I got it I got off the table and I was in no pain. It was such an incredible feeling that I started crying. The doctor was scared he had hurt me. Enjoy yourself, you deserve it!!!!!!!!!! Nan

  21. I am so sorry! The doctor just put me on ZELNORM and I hate it. It makes me shaky and it doesn't work. I am so slow moving and it's not helping. I hope that it will work for you. You do need to have tests done. Good Luck! Nan
  22. The doctor told my husband that there was no food left in my stomach and that the gastric emptying scan wasn't always accurate. He also told him that I had a lot of acid. Mine was abnormal. I did have a small amount of fundic fluid retention, hyperemia of distal esophagus, and patent LES. I tried looking all of that up and I found that fundis is a part of your stomach. I don't understand why I have fluid there. Hyperemia has something to do with presence of blood and I know that LES is lower esophageal sphincter. Of course, my watermelon stomach showed up too. He put me on Zelnorm and I am shaking all over. I don't know whether I am still weak from anesthesia or if I am reacting to medicine. I go see my GI in 4 weeks, but I might call him and ask him. If anybody had major problems with their motility I would like to ask some questions, but I don't think I should bring it up here. It would be great if you could email me and I could ask you some questions. Thanks, Nan
  23. Andyko, Thanks for your reply. I am going to email you to ask you something else. I hope that you don't mind. Nan
  24. Thanks, that helps a lot. The nurse that discharged me told me that my esophagus was letting acid flow back. That really confused me. It's good to know it's ok. Nan
  25. I feel so fortunate. My doctor's nurse called and said that my PFT was essentially normal. When I go in I am going to ask for a copy. Echocardiogram was good. X-rays show that my right hand and wrist have OA and my right elbow has calsification. My left hand has scleroderma changes, but no erosions. Tomorrow I get to do upper endoscopy to try and see why I am slow emptying. Nan :D
