  1. Good afternoon to everyone. The chest pains are gone and all of the tests came back normal. As usual I'm confused, I guess eventually they will figure out what is going on with me. I see my Eye doctor on Monday, another field test, I failed the last one. I don't know what I will do if they won't refill my Plaquenil. Have a nice afternoon and take care. Jackie
  2. I really don't know what tests he has ordered, his nurse just said they were testing for quite a few things, so I really don't know at this point. Thank you for responding to my message. Jackie
  3. Thank you so much Shelley and Nina for your replies. I didn't think it was reflux because I do experiance that often. This seemed differant from that. Maybe it was just spasms, who knows I will wait and see if anything shows up in the blood work. Thanks again. Jackie
  4. Hello Summer, I have Raynaud's and I have a lot of skin discolouration on my legs, bruising under the skin and plaque like lesions. My hands seem to be purple most of the time now and they seem to be very warm a lot now. I find that strange with Raynaud's, because I understood that your hands turned purple when you get cold. I have a lot of body pain, migraines, fatigue, chest pain and the list goes on and on. My doctor's here in Washington state still can't figure out what's happening with me. Anyway I don't know whether or not that is much help to you but I do understand what your feeling, frustration for me big time. Jackie
  5. Good morning everyone, I have been having freqent pains in my chest area, left side and left arm. I have had pains in the chest area off and on since 2001. I seem to remember someone here stating that that goes along with this disease. I had a EKG and chest xray yesterday and that was okay. I was just wondering if anyone here has this problem. Jackie
  6. Hello to all of you. I have been away from this site for quite some time. I was wondering if that search engine that was spoke about awhile ago to help raise money for Scleroderma is still out there. I would like to use it if it is and so would alot of others I know. If possible could one of you let me know what it is. Have a nice evening. Calm Jackie 2
  7. Hello Gina, I totally understand what you are going through. Over the past 6 years it's been a roller coaster for me as well, but since I had my Gall Bladder out at least the reflux doesn't seem to be as bad. I do have to watch what I eat though. I moved from California up to Washington, and I have had trouble with doctor's as well. It can be very frustrating to get a diagnosis. All of my doctor's in California agreed I had Scleroderma, here there on the fence about the whole thing. So day by day I put up with all of these syptoms, like you mentioned and go on with my day. Good luck to you and believe me this website is wonderfull. Jackie S.
  8. Hello Peggy, I haven't been on for a while, nice to hear your son is home enjoy every minute with him. Take time for yourself and don't get overly tired. Have fun and take care. Jackie S.
  9. Hello Sharon I totally know where your coming from. This all started for me with a biopsie done on my feet that determined I had Morphea. I have all of the same symptoms you do and more. I am 54 years old but I don't have Diabetis. I do have Raynauds. I have bad migraines alot of body pain especially in my neck and shoulders. My skin feels extremly dry and itchy alot. I have all of the same GI problems you do. I did have my Gall Bladder out recently which seems to have helped the acid reflux somewhat. I see quite a few doctors about various problems, so I totally know where your coming from. Good luck to you. Jackie S.
  10. Hello Barefut, I'm sorry to hear your having problems. I don't know if I can give you the name of this med that my surgeon gave me for bad reflux or not, but here goes. After my Gallbladder surgery I was in really bad shape with reflux. My surgeon called in Sucralfate 1 gram tabs, generic for Carafate, they really worked for me. I hope you can get some relief soon. Good luck to you. Jackie S.

    Lyrica

Hello Sam, I saw your post on Lyrica, and I just had to get back to you. I was wondering how long you have been on Lyrica. I have been on it for about 3 years now. Originally, my Neouro., put me on it for my Migraines, now they say it works for the body pain as well. I have been taking 150 mg. 2 to 3 times a day now. When I first started taking this med I thought it was a wonder drug. It helped my migraines almost instantly. I am finding now it helps sometimes, I guess, but I still have alot of pain. I get alot of pain in my neck and shoulder area as well. Do you feel your pain is in the muscles or joints? I find it is hard to tell sometimes. My rheumatologist said, In Scleroderma you don't get body pain all over. Do you get pain all over or just in certain areas? My Doctors here in Washington are uncertain if I have Scleroderma now. In California my rheumatologist, Gastro. and Gyno. all agreed that I have Scleroderma. So I don't know. I have had quite a bit of weight gain from the Lyrica as well. Thanks and take care. Jackie S.
  12. Hello Angie, I'm so sorry your having problems. I totally understand where your coming from. Eleven years ago, two differant Dermo's did the punch biopsies on me and both came back as Morphea. Ever since then I have had many changes happening to my body, but not to much on the outside. The morale of this story is I have been fighting with all of the doctor's I see here in Washington, because none of them here think that I have Scheroderma. I went through alot of testing at UCLA in California and the end conclusion was definately Scleroderma. So I understand, this desease is very tough to diagnose. I definately have Raynauds, my hands turn purple alot lately. I have alot of GI problems, and my hands and feet are very tough and hard. The biopsies were done on my feet, that's where it all started. I also have alot of body pain and bad migraines. I definately have figured out that you have to be patient, because the Doctor's treat the symptoms as they come and they don't want to give this desease a name so they say MCTD, Mixed Connective Tissue Desease. Well, good luck to you and I hope you find your answers. I would definately seek out another opinion. Jackie S.
  13. I am sorry to say, I have also gained weight, but not from the Plaquenil. I was on Lyrica for about 2 1/2 years. I have gained about 30 pounds and I am having a terrible time losing it. I found, I just have wanted to eat pretty much non stop, it's very frustrating. Well, good luck to you. Jackie S.
  14. Thank you Margaret, that's good to know. I decided to start taking my Plaquenil again, better safe than sorry. Thanks again for the heads up. Jackie S.
  15. Peggy, I can't even imagine, what you and so many other families go through. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts. Take care. Jackie S.
  16. Oh my , I thought it was just for the body pain, I guess I had better get back on it then. I see my rheumatologist on the 25th of this month, so I guess I had better get back on it and check with him on my next appointment. Come to think of it I have been off of the Plaquenil for about 2 month's and actually it's been about the last month that I have really started to feel bad again. So who knows if that has anything to do with how I've been feeling. Thanks again for your support. Jackie S.
  17. Hello to all of you. I hope your all having a good day. I was on Plaquenil for 5 1/2 years and recently I stopped it because I didn't feel it was doing anything for me. I was started on a anti inflamatory for the body pain so I thought seeing as that seems to be working I didn't need the Plaquenil, but now I'm having second thoughts if I should have gone off it. Is this med for more than body pain? Jackie S.
  18. Good afternoon to all of you. Pamela, I did not know that Anti Inflamatory medication can cause water retention. I was just started on this new anti inflamatory med for the body pain a couple of weeks ago, do you think that could be causing some of this bloating I'm having? Jackie S.
  19. I really didn't think it was going to take so long to help eleviate this problem. I wonder if just going on a liquid diet is the answer? But then again what liquids do you drink? Everything I eat or drink seems to bother me. Thank you again for your support. Jackie S.
  20. Hello Mary, thanks so much for all of your info. I am going into day 5 and still no results. I also have a Rectal Fissure, so I am feeling pretty miserable. Did your doctor. suggest to you, go on a Gluten Free Diet? I believe everything I eat right now bothers me. I really don't know what to do. I find fruits and veggies, really seem to bother me, this is so unfortunate when I love to eat, mind you I'm sure most of us do. Well, I guess I'll wait a few more days and see what happens. Thanks again for your support. Jackie S.
  21. Hi Peanut and Mary, how are you today? That antibiotic you mentioned Mary, the Xifaxan, 200 mg. twice a day, is what my Gastro. Doc put me on. Peanut, I really don't know for sure how they know if it's Bacterial Overgrowth. I have had Motility tests done. When I was living in California they did do a test on me at UCLA to find out if I had the Bacterial Overgrowth, which at that time I didn't. I asked my doctor if he needed to do any more tests and he said no, at this time he said we treat the symtoms. Mary, I was wondering how long it took the Xifaxan to kick in and start working. I started taking this med on Monday, still no improvements. Thanks again. Jackie S.
  22. Hello to all of you. I was wondering those of you that have taken antibiotics for the Bacterial Overgrowth, how long did it take for you to feel better. And how long did it take for the bloating to go away. I started the antibiotics on Monday and so far there's been no change. This is so uncomfortable, none of my clothes fit. Thanks for your support. Jackie S.
  23. Thank you Pamela, I surely will try to have a nice visit with my brother. It sure is tough to try and keep up with my daily routine, not to mention get ready for company. Thank heavens it's my brother, he's not too fussy. Take care and thanks again. Jackie s.
  24. Good morning everyone, wow, it's amazing how this bloating affects alot of us. I've been on the Antibiotics since Monday, no change yet, I'm still bloated. Plus I have a rectal fissure, the last one, I had to have surgery for. I'm just getting very tired of this. I have my brother coming from Canada for a visit next Tues. and I have so much to do, I just don't have time for all of these health issues. This just get's old. Well, have a good day. Take Care Jackie S.
  25. Hello again, I just got back from the GI doctor. and he said this is probably motility issues and a bacterial overgrowth, so he started me on antibiotics and said if that didn't make a difference in a couple of weeks, that I would definitely have to go on the Gluten Free Diet. I know wheat bothers me, but I love bread so much! It is such a dragg! I've tried all of the motility meds out there and I can't take them, as the side affects are too bad for me. I may have to bite the bullet and take one of them no matter what. It is interesting how this affects all of us, very similarly. Thanks again to all of you for your support. Jackie S.
