  1. I’ve had 2 ANA test come out positive for centromere pattern associated with limited systemic sclerosis. My problems are mainly gastrointestinal. Bloating, gases, slow digestion and abdominal pain. I feel pressure inside my stomach and abdomen. I also feel stiffness in neck and back. Rheumatologist has not diagnosed me due to no CREST signs. Never have seen signs of Raynaud's. I am very concerned. I know this disease can manifest itself differently in people. Can anyone who is suffering from this condition and is having gastrointestinal issues give me some insight regarding symptoms?
  2. How to beat health problems no one likes to talk about. When it comes to digestive troubles we’re remarkably shy, with more than 40 per cent of people never discussing their symptoms with a doctor. Mail Online, 08/22/2017. (Also see Gastrointestinal Involvement) This item was posted in the ISN Newsroom. Please check the newsroom daily for updates on scleroderma and other related articles.
  3. I have an issue that I was wondering if anyone else has or had and if anyone has any suggestions. My rheumatologist is putting in a referral to a gastroenterologist, and I'm going to see my family doctor next week to ask if she has any thoughts. Whenever I get the "urge" for a bowel movement, I often seem to have very little time to get myself to a bathroom. Either I will have to go right away, or I will have to pass gas, and I cannot physically hold onto it like I used to. So it can be embarrassing, because a sneeze or cough can send out a "toot". And the other day at work, I got an urge to go, and literally maybe half a minute afterwards, as I was starting to get myself towards the bathroom (which is on another floor), I passed gas, and noisily, too, because I was trying so hard to hold it in. I don't know if anyone heard, but if they didn't, one of these days, someone will. Anyone else have these issues? Is it the scleroderma? Or associated with the myositis? Or could it be something unrelated? (I guess there's always that chance, isn't there?)
