  1. Anti-cancer Therapy May Help Fight Inflammation in Scleroderma (SSc) Patients, Data Suggest. These results suggest that tagraxofusp might be a potential therapeutic approach for SSc or other autoimmune diseases. Scleroderma News, 06/26/2019. (Also see Cancer and Dendritic Cells) This item was posted in the ISN Newsroom. Please check the newsroom daily for updates on scleroderma and other related articles.
  2. Low RUNX3 expression alters dendritic cell function in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) and contributes to enhanced fibrosis. We show at least two pathways potentially causing low runt-related transcription factor 3 level in SSc plasmacytoid dendritic cells. PubMed, Ann rheumatologist Dis, 05/24/2019. (Also see Dendritic Cells) This item was posted in the ISN Newsroom. Please check the newsroom daily for updates on scleroderma and other related articles.
  3. Scientists Are Teaching the Body to Accept New Organs. Patients receiving new kidneys and livers must take damaging anti–rejection drugs for the rest of their lives, but now researchers hope to train the immune system instead of just tamping it down. New York Times, 01/22/2019. (Also see Dendritic Cells and Immunosuppressants) This item was posted in the ISN Newsroom. Please check the newsroom daily for updates on scleroderma and other related articles.
  4. Naturally derived Heme-Oxygenase 1 inducers attenuate inflammatory responses in human dendritic cells and T cells: relevance for psoriasis treatment. This study supports reports highlighting the therapeutic potential of curcumin in psoriasis by providing insight into its immunological effects. PubMed, Sci Rep, 2018 Jul 6;8(1):10287. (Also see Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis) This item was posted in the ISN Newsroom. Please check the newsroom daily for updates on scleroderma and other related articles.
  5. Plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC) promote systemic sclerosis (SSc) with a key role for TLR8. We conclude that the pDC is an essential cell type involved in the pathogenesis of SSc and its removal using depleting antibodies or attenuating pDC function could be a novel approach to treat SSc patients. PubMed, Sci Transl Med, 2018 Jan 10;10(423). (Also see Dendritic Cells) This item was posted in the ISN Newsroom. Please check the newsroom daily for updates on scleroderma and other related articles.
  6. Dendritic cells (DC) maintain dermal adipose–derived stromal cells (ADSCs) in skin fibrosis. These findings provide insight into the effects of skin fibrosis on the dermal white adipose tissue ADSCs, identify a DC-ADSC survival axis in fibrotic skin, and suggest an approach for improving mesenchymal stromal cell therapy in scleroderma and other diseases. PubMed, 10/10/2016. (Also see Dendritic Cells) This item was posted in the ISN Newsroom. Please check the newsroom daily for updates on scleroderma and other related articles.
